[Fixed]Unable To Turn DB Services on

For all the peeps getting this error while trying to turn DB services on, here is the problem and fix.

Error:

The Account DB server service on Local computer started and then stopped, Some services stop automatically if they are no in use by other services or programs.

Why does it happen?


Coz windows vista/ 7 are gay.

Fix:

So yeah, you thought u did the ODBC process right, well you have not, in windows vita and windows 7 u will have 2 ODBC programs, one that you can easly find pressing windows key and typing ODBC in, and 2 you need to press:

Windows Key + R [at the same time, to open " Run " ]

In Run tab, paste this " %SystemRoot%\sysWOW64\odbcad32.exe " without the commas , and press enter, once there, do the correct ODBC set up. And tadah~ problem fixed.

Before doing the set up in the right ODBC delete the old set up you had, its useless.

I had this problem for over 2 weeks, and i just found the fix, since none ever helped or posted a fix in RaGEZONE i decided to share it.

Not only is the problem like you mentioned, but another factor towards the problem was:
There are 3 yes T H R E E, ODBC's.
And we had set all 3 of those up (3 different devs using 3 different ODBC)
So I deleted it all and only used one of them AND WOO working perfectly.
If it was not for you slapping some common sence in to my face, I would still be shouting at our Dedi company for selling me a faulty server ...

Not only is the problem like you mentioned, but another factor towards the problem was:
There are 3 yes T H R E E, ODBC's.
And we had set all 3 of those up (3 different devs using 3 different ODBC)

hey can someone help me i have the same error and tried setting up Odbc in both of the ways mentioned and i still get it. i get this for all the DB services and i can not run Account.exe it does not pass.

Since when I did for a FFlyf serv it was User DSN
Then I had to use SQL Native client

But on the forum I saw that for fiesta :

I have to set System DSN and use SQL serveur isn't it?


So tell me what is right , thx for help xD

OBDC Must be in System DSN only, And yes, you need to use SQL Server/System DSN in OBDC.

Installing the ODBC Connectors
There are different ways for 64 bit computers then there are for 86 bit.

86bit Computer
Open ODBC Management the way you normally would.

64bit Computer
If your running on a 64 bit computer. Then open run and type in or browse to
"%SystemRoot%\sysWOW64\odbcad32.exe"

when I try to use the .bak files giving in this Forum (Data+file) that just fail to restore the database

what is wrong ?
