    [Help] NPC Not Displaying Quests

    Yo!

So I've used the iQuest tool written by Buster, with Soriens and Busters fixes, to modify the quest files. I have then deleted every single quest except for the first quest named "Baby Steps" received by Element Helper Remi. I then duplicated the copied quest and made a big chunk of modifications to it, but it refused to show up on the NPC I specified.

I know for a fact that the modifications I made are completely valid because I've forced the quest to my character through SQL and everything showed perfect as I wanted it to. The details are right, the reward, the NPC has a green Q above its head now since the quest is "In Progress" and then I can also turn it in once I've met the right criteria.

But my issue is that I can't receive it in the first place and yes, the level limits are correct. I've also tested using the original QuestData.shn where all the quests are still in there and modified one of the quests and that worked just fine, the Quest showed above the NPC and everything.

I suspect it might have to do with the unkData, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know why this occurs?

    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Alex.

The quests are usually class specific. There are 5 instances of the first quest for example, so by duplicating one of the first quests you only made a new quest for one class.

I'm sure that's not it because when I got it working before, I only had to make 1 instance of the quest which worked for all classes. Could it have to do with the unkData?

"I've also tested using the original QuestData.shn where all the quests are still in there and modified one of the quests and that worked just fine, the Quest showed above the NPC and everything."
After doing that, I've tested removing all the quests except for the one I made and it worked fine. I guess the duplicate button doesn't copy everything necessary, or something. While removing the quests tho, I saw that the Quest ID's on the Quest List were variable. They didn't have static ID's but they changed every time I deleted a quest, so that they were in an ordered arithmetic order starting from 1 and going upwards.

So say we had Quest with ID 10 and I deleted Quest with ID 9 which is below it, the Quest with ID 9 is removed and the Quest that previously had the ID 10 has now the ID 9. Does that make sense? But if I duplicate a Quest and try the same thing, the Quest keeps it's ID statically and doesn't change depending on the order.

I'm sure what I've posted should give some good clues to this.
I'll look further to this and report back. Good luck to the rest of you.
