.____. Ya can't just simply make a server and send the .exe/client/.bat file and expect that your friend will be able to join. No, doesn't work that way you'll need to host your server on hamachi or whatever then, switch the clients ip to whatever your hosting your server with.
Edit, misread the post but i'll leave that there just incase you didn't already do that. It's probably not working because you didn't edit the bat file correctly make sure it's exactly the way you renamed your .exe just a heads up if I were you I'd just edit the client with a hex editor, it's pretty simple.

try more updated files and client.
your going to end up with more issues even after you pass the gameguard issue. Your server files and client files will need to be in sync or you will have dc's and network usage out the roof. You should try to search around the forums a bit and learn as much as possable and open each of the files in the shine folder and all in each one. This way you start to understand the structure. After you understand some more and feel you have a true question without just rambling each question one at a time till you drive everyone nuts. Come back and ask the real issue questions.
