[NA] Active Skill mistaken for a Production Skill

Me again. I'm very new to fiesta's files, though I can usually troubleshoot the problems myself after a while, but now I've attempted to create a new skill and everything is fine except the game believes it is a production skill and it should be an active skill.

The skill was copied from Whirlwind Attack's rows in ItemInfo.shn, ItemViewInfo.shn, ItemInfoServer.shn, ActiveSkillInfoServer.shn and partially from Vampiric Strike's in ActiveSkill.shn, and then it was copied from Berserk in ActiveSkillView.

Although it was largely copied except for the ID and Inxname, the game assumes it is a production skill. I've compared it's rows to that of production skills and I cant seem to find a single column that this skill has in common with any production skill that other active skills do not. I've even played around with values in ActiveSkillGroup, but nothing has changed. I'm still trying to decode the meaning of the columns in the activeskill files but is there some column I should be paying attention to? Could it be the special indexes from vampiric strike or the fact that I do not understand ActiveSkillGroup? What causes a skill to be interpreted as a production skill?

So I took it upon myself to read though the first 50 pages of the help section and I noticed this problem has appeared quite a few times. Sadly of course the questioner always figured it out on their own if at all and never posted their solution. I'm going to take another look at my SHNs and attempt to create another new skill and I'll tell you what I find.

I'm certain the ID is identical throughout, but to update. I've created another skill. This time I copied the Vitality skill and kept every value the same as Vitality's except for the inxname and ID. I made changes to ItemInfo.shn, ItemInfoServer.shn, ItemViewInfo.shn, ActiveSkill.shn, ActiveSkillServer.shn, ActiveSkillView.shn, and ActiveSkillGroup. I noticed production skills are not included in ActiveSkillGroup however copying the rows of Vitality in ActiveSkillGroup changed nothing.

I fear this may be another database error (Which I last solved by reinstalling the databases) unless there is a file I'm missing in which skills are defined as active or production skills. I am using windows 7, so I don't understand why I've been so prone to these errors.

    Experiment with the ID.

The id for the first skill is 24085 and the other is 24086. I'll try changing them to an available id closer to the ones most skills have if at all possible.

I noticed the ID of skills declared in the Item shns is different than the ID for skills in the ActiveSkill shns. I made changes to ItemViewInfo.shn, ItemInfo.shn, and ItemInfoServer.shn now their IDs are 69 and 70 as items and 24085 and 24086 as skills.(given that there was a gap between 68 and 200 for whatever reason) and still the game believes both are production skills.

    -------- update --------

I found these in the Zone02 logs in asserts

    "21:33:25 : AssertClass::ac_AssertFail : CharaterSkillList::csl_GetDelayGroup : Cannot found Skill[24086]"

I didn't change the cool time group on that one from Vitality's so that might be what they're referring to.

The ID. Think outside of the box.

I'm afraid I don't follow. Should the ID not be a number?

    -------

Oh I see, the skill IDs directly follow a series of production skills. Perhaps the ID being within that certain range is all the server is looking for in declaring production skills (24000-24999). At 25000 Flame Walker is declared. Now I've changed the skills to 25001 and 25002.

    - - - Updated - - -

That didn't work so I changed it to 29403 and 29404 which directly succeeds the most recent active skills added. Still they are considered production skills. At this point I am absolutely certain this is a database error. In which case I give up, fiesta wins this round.

Oh, I remember i had this issue. Find the diffrences between a skill thats already there and your new one. I'll check it out once I'm back home.

I copied my new skill's row from an already existing skill. For the purpose of testing the ID number's effect on the glitch I changed nothing. At this point the only thing that connects with these skills not working is the ID number or an error in the server's core files.

An interesting thing to note, when I try to learn these skills through &learnskill command nothing happens. I get the little animation and it says I learned the skill, but the skill does not appear. Afterwards it says you already have the skill or failed to learn the skill. It does not appear in passive skill, Active skill, or production skill when I learn it through &learnskill. It will appear in production skill if I learn it through the item. This tells me there is something wrong with the ActiveSkill shn. For the second skill the only error I see is that it is using vitality's cool time group, because I copied it from vitality in every SHN and have changed nothing except the Inxname and ID number. The logs have nothing to say about the first skill which I have made some changes to.

--- Edit: I did change max step to 1 for both skills --- other than that they should be identical
