I'm wondering if someone would be so kind to explain the things needed to use a newer client and the basics of what needs to happen. Any tutorials on the concepts would be helpful as well.

Im not sure about that. I think it could be one of these:

- other encryption
- newer client has more infos in shn which the server cannot read
- other version requirements of the Gamebryo engine
- other protection ( like gamigo client using stealth x-trap-like thingy )
- newer client sends too much info to the server
- newer client sends not enough info to the server
- mah cat poops

i think there can be more things that let newer clients fail on our old files but im pretty sure its one of those listed ( exept the cat )

nope. and idk but i think he means the new client with new released files/databases. might just be my retarded guess though.

actully, i'm talking about just using a newer client. Some other servers are using a newer client. I don't want there client, i want to use a client i have. I know the titan project figured it out and they built a server that uses it. I have made euro clients work but the chat and char select is off.

I don't think you thought about what i wrote at all. I asked for what i need, like the programs and any dll's and stuff for php ect. I asked what happens, so the basics or the flow of data. and aske for tutorials on the concepts. so, it it uses a md5 hash i would like to see a exaple of it being used and a small build to build myself so that i can learn.

I gues as long as we dont know what exactly is needed nobody can tell you how to do it. I guess its a structure thing.

There are people that know how to do it and understand it. I made the titan server so i can see it work and read through the code. i've learned a little from that. I know the newer ones are using php and the mcrypt but still learning more.
