Services won't work on 2012, they altered the way sockets are setup for asynchronous connections on Windows 8 and Server 2012 seems to use the same setup; so it fails on that as well.

Windows Server 2008 is your best bet.

I've have Windows Server 2012 on a Virtual Machine and the server run without errors.

Was getting the same error on the 2012 that the Windows 8 output; figured it was linked to the same issue.

I read a thread linked to the whole asynchronous issues associated with Windows 8/Server 2012 and gave up as it was probably the same issue, below is a thread I found which I assumed was the reason for the issues/binding-to-sockets.

Worrying issue with Windows 8 and AcceptEx... - AsynchronousEvents

I gave up using 2012 and stuck with 2008 after that; although MSSQL 2012 is nice.

Just to be clear; the error I was receiving with 2012 (quoted below) was occuring when certain services were trying to bind along-side another service (eg Character -> World-Manager or Account/Account-Log -> Login), which were all outputting the same error (below), after which I pretty much assumed it was linked to the same issue as Windows 8.
