    SQL / Service Errors

    Hello Ragezone.

Basically, I made a new SQL account, and ever since then it has fucked up. I reinstalled the dedi, and everything! It still didn't work. (I'm using the same files)
So, what's happening is when I try to start the service it says it stopped but can't run. I check in the error logs, and it says the password is wrong. (Trust me, it's right and it isn't the config file)
I seem to think that they're trying to connect to another database.. how can I stop this from happening, so they connect to the one I want them to. :L My Regi Page works fine! Just the services don't.. Zone services work though.
Yeah, ODBC is set up CORRECTLY it has been looked at by my dev who can't seem to find the problem either.

    Thanks. :l

If that is the problem your getting, you have not done it the correct way.

First, Stop saying its all correct, cause its not. If it was correct you would have a running server.

Second, Think about what you did and double check each thing.

Third, Stop saying everythings correct, when its correct it will work.

if it says wrong password, it means it. Its not a person that can change its mind. This is a computer, it gets info and sends it to the places its told by a program.

If its setup to another server, your ODBC is setup wrong.

    *Facepalm*

I've set up over 10 servers, and have never had this problem.
I'm setting it up again this very second to make sure it isn't the files..

The error says the password's wrong. It isn't.
This has been checked for a few devs, and they couldn't fix it.

    Some people.. -.-

    Re: SQL / Service Errors

We had the same problem, and I personally have set up the SQL and services at least 200 times since I started developing ... why you ask?
Because I go though laptops like crazy ... anyways on to the problem, and yes you will say " But I did do them right 100% PERFECT " But you did the ODBC wrong, you have either input the ODBC info in wrong, or you have used one of the 3 " Wrong " ODBC's yes there are 4 of them on Windows 7 xD
DON'T ASK ME WHY, but there just are, so find every last ODBC you can, and removed all info from them (fiesta info only!) and then use the correct ODBC to set the services up.
YOU DID IT WRONG! I even had to admit I did it wrong aswell ... It haunts me every day.

It will work once you have done all of that, at least I am 99.9% sure, worked for me.

    Re: SQL / Service Errors

It isn't lying to you ya know. It's not 'bugged'. Obviously the password is wrong. Or the account doesn't have access to login. Or the account doesn't have access to the the database it's trying to access. Or maybe there is one of those weird invisible characters in your config.txt file. Maybe you should try logging into ms sql from the odbc and see if you can login there. (Click a connection, Configure, click 'With SQL Server Authentication blah blah)

    YOU EVER TINK OF DOSE?!?!!?

    The password isn't wrong.
I've used a fresh config file.
It lets me connect directly through ODBC using the Password.. So, it obviously isn't wrong.... as you told me to do. :L

    Stop giving me obvious fixes.
I set it up correctly, I'm just getting an error. :L

    Also, I'm using Windows 2008.. Not Win7/Vista

I'll put up screenies just for you guys. <3
