    Windows 8

I built a new desktop a month or so ago, mainly for all my hobby like purposes.
I went to set up a test server on it like normal, but kept running into odd errors and a ton of stuff just deciding not to work properly.

My question is, should I even try to make work arounds and such on it, or are there / is there anyone who knows how.

I plan on switching to Win7 Ult. soon, I am just taking my time playing with windows 8 to see how "crummy" it really is.

I was thinking about doing that, but I dont want to spend extra time on just setting up a tiny little test server for personal amusement.
Perhaps if I become bored enough, It will most likely be the case.

WM's use up ram you give it to use + some of the host pc, so unless you have some extra reserve ram then that's a good way to get it on Win8 if you don't have time to look more into the odbc conflicts that os has

Yeah, I already set up a VM, and my computer is by far able to run it. I have it 24 ram (out of 64), and half of my cpu.

I don't see the issue with windows 8 honestly. I see people posting about and getting errors but i have not gotten open yet mentioned. Maybe i am just special? Or maybe i just know windows too much xD.

    Re: Windows 8

I've Windows 8.1 and installed VMWare Workstation 10 and Windows Server 2008 R2 (MSDN).

I've enough space to do that and enough system speed (8x4Ghz and 32 Gig of Ram) ive running the server and my system just runs on idle.
Remote desktop also works behind a router.

Basicly you can do everything behind a router just need the know how.

Maybe you guys should use Google more.............

If you don't know how to fix the issue still maybe you should update your computer to the latest service pack, or you can RE your winsock/acceptex dll's. I personally had this issue resolved a long time ago by RE the dll's. Wasn't that hard to do.

Dont even joke about asking that guy about computers.

He litterally thinks that a UI is what stops you from running a server.. like what?

This fucking topic should be closed, I got my test server up like a week after posting this..

I hope your not talking about me cause your dead wrong. I already posted what the issue is, and how to fix it. The gay Win 8 UI has nothing to do with what the issue is.
