just got warned because of trying to make rules being followed at KOTH, I defend my point = i get warned
Hence the over-reliance on reports.
Are there not different moderators for different sections? And if not, then where is the logic behind having the same few people in charge everywhere when it is ineffective as Ron has pointed out.
Give a moderator a section and if they cannot handle that ONE, then they don't deserve to have anymore do they?
But what is not reported is not done, as shown by Ron.
I'm not trying to fight btw just having a discussion. Actually wanted to create a new thread for the outerworld as well but seeing as though this thread has served it's purpose I am considering hijacking it and getting a quick answer.
How can you guys possibly complain about moderators not cleaning up threads, but refuse to use the report system in the same breath? Come on... Most people on here don't use the report system. With how big this forum is, you'd be damn well surprised at how few reports we actually get a day. Stop whinging about things if you're not going to do anything about them, yourself... Have some common sense -.-
@Scratch: Stop trying to use 1 incident as the basis of your argument. The fact is, the typo was let slip BECAUSE IT WAS A TYPO, simple as. Please move on. Thank you.
@I Rule Mu: You know very well that just because a thread is not reported doesn't mean it won't get cleaned... I can guarantee that a lot of unreported threads get dealt with. Please stop trying to make out that the moderators simply don't bother checking threads ever.
Personally, I think we need to remind our users what the report system is for and that it is there to be used. Until people can start using it, threads like these are pointless and serve as nothing more than a poor excuse for members to try and bitch at mods for invalid reasons. Thread should be closed, IMO.

this 1 incident was repeated twice, still ignoring the mistake and lets move on with this skip? its just unfair, be my guest and take my place and than think about that.
You're still not getting it... Your report(s) were dealt with, so if the thread/post stayed, obviously the mod who dealt with it thought it was an invalid report. Ergo, you still don't have an argument. This thread is about threads that violate the rules not being taken care of. You're just complaining about a rule being bent BY THE MODERATORS in a competition... Those 2 are quite different things. Why you feel it necessary to carry on with an issue that had been dealt with a while ago, I don't know, let alone one you have absolutely no say in.
But I don't know that, and judging on what Ron has just posted no one can count on that. I am not trying to make it seem like anything, I am just saying if something did not happen there must be a reason and so far the reasons have been excuses. Stop getting offended so easily.
I am just saying you are here to actively search through your section and be proactive, not reactive. What all of you are saying is that everyone should report stuff and you will take care of it, and the thing I am deriving from that is that the majority of the responsibility lies with the community and not with the moderators. If this is the case, then half the mods seem superfluous.
I've voted for a bigger report button last year. Quite sure it will improve the reports because right now it's a tiny button which some users: Don't see or just don't know what it is for.
I, personally, check every new thread in my sections whenever I visit RZ. However, there have been MANY times where threads with new posts do not show up as actually having new posts (bolded thread title). This most likely also happens with other people, so you cannot blame a mod for not seeing something. So, as we have been saying, if you see something that needs to be taken care of, just report it. If it's reported, then it definitely will be dealt with as the mod sees fit. If it's not reported, then there is the chance it won't be noticed.
EDIT: My sections are quite slow, BTW, so it's very easy for me to moderate them.

I noticed the standards on these sections fall a longgg time ago. I remember when I practically mini-moded the Flyff Advertisement forum.
just saw the screens, the warning that chewbecca talked about was already given, if she thinks its crap what im talking about sure w/e. None is gonna change my mind about the stuff i just said. don't even pull me into this thread anymore. Thanks
Also sorry mental for making you waste your time taking screens
