There has been many suggestions about this idea already, Mental said, that if RZ would do that, the database would fill pretty fast with useless accs who never posts and it would cause more lagg.
As everyone has said, we shouldn't force them to register this is unprofessional and will cause them to leave and possibly give RaGEZONE a bad name.
i am agree with rice
No point in making such a big deal of it, users have to Register to view screenies or snippets, and links. and sometimes you're in a hurry as a member, and don't really want to have the hassle of logging in. But i guess, if the majority wants to change the existing settings to No guests, then there we have it, but i find there is no point, but what ever opinions right?
I viewed the maplestory section as,a guest and was able to see a localhostr link o.o
Bots and crawlers are actually in a different forum group as regular guests, and therefor limiting guest access should not screw up the job they are doing right now. Using this as an argument is needless. Still, I must agree its unnecessary to limit guest access. Not just bots, but guests also contribute towards Ragezones hitrating on Google. The more people click links on Ragezone and stay there for a while instead of just going straight back to Google will have a positive effect on the search ranking. As said before, people who do not feel the need to contribute and only register to see one post or download 1 attachment would just clutter the user database. Limiting them has no use for Ragezone nor its staff, but it surely would be a pain in the ass for people who are looking for a quick fix that might be available here. If they want to contribute, they will register anyway.
-1 and here is the reason;
if you will force guests to register there will be too many users without messages and it will not good for database.
Many accounts = many delay i think.
I support this suggestion.
The database is cleaned every 6 months and all zero-posters (members with zero posts) are deleted so their usernames are available again. We did in actuality surpassed the 1 million registered members mark more than a year ago.
Yea, it's just hard to get to the gooey center when it's encased in a solidified shell of shit.
Off-site links work, and I've suggested that perhaps, they should not. Attachments do not, and there is something with embedded images ... it only partly works.
Anyway, I don't want lurkers to register, generally. Seemingly dead accounts aren't useful, guests are.
I was a guest before I registered, and I'm often a contributor to those "guest" figures since RZ logs me out automatically (more quickly, of late) when I don't post, just read.
