If im not mistaken, there's a released plugin on vbulletin.org that does this (i came across it when i was looking for the post thank you mod for my forums)
And say there wasn't, this would be pretty easy to do.

Better idea would be that if someone writes your name on his post, you get notification from it, but it would still be annoying, because someone can "troll" you and spam your name everywhere or some group of members could do that too :D

This could be interesting and therefore useful, I support this idea!
+1 from me. vB has plugins for these features already and I would love to see the @user and post quote notification plugins here.
If people abuse the @user just ban them. The thread subscription system is retarded.
I totally agree with you here. And it's not as if there's non plug-ins to support this idea.
but please make sure its AJAX Type if not we need to reload the page everytime :P .. but yeah i like this idea to :)
