Section you are applying for?: Priston Tale

Do you have any experience with the section you are applying for?: I've been very active for the last 2 years, but have been "lurking" since before I my account was active.

Write a small paragraph as to why you should be a moderator on your chosen section.: Only DarkKnightH20 is actually actively moderating the Priston Tale section, and the section is still very active 24 hours of the day. Sometimes we have new people come and spam all over the section, we have a large back-log of useful threads which are un-tagged and a new layout of sub-forums where they should be moved so that newcomers can find them more easily. I also believe I am good at conflict resolution and fair to all members.

Why did you join RaGEZONE?: For PT development. To share my knowledge and enjoy learning from those of others.

The Priston Tale section has had a new mod de-mod in quick succession recently, and all during a time I had been speaking with our existing active mod (DarkKnightH20) about taking a similar role.

While I realise that the appointment was very disappointing, the fact that there was someone around, catching posts when DK is not on-line was quite positive, and I really hoped that SheenBR would work out and relieve me of the need to make an application... sadly, it seems he was not an appropriate candidate.

DarkKnightH20 has said he would advocate my appointment if I wish, and while I will admit that I did advise SheenBR on some of his actions, (amendment to the "PT Section Rules" that seemed to conflict with general RZ rules and such) I didn't see his "homophobic" posts before they where removed, and suspect that my recommendations that he seek the advise of the Admins above him, or at least DarkKnightH20 (who has been doing the job well, pretty much all on his own, for years now) where not followed up. (I don't know for sure)

On the positive side, my favourite cousin is very openly bi-sexual and "a furry", and many of my close friends are openly gay... not quite as many as aren't, but close.

I think most people will agree that I try to promote international relations on RZ where-ever possible, and make every attempt to help those who cannot easily speak English to post here and join in by making dual language posts, and replying in kind.

I am "Some old git", into my mid 30s. By which I mean, I am no kid, and am very open to "alternative opinions".

In fact, one of the point's I'm often pulled up on, is the fact that I will always promote a new way of looking at a problem that was solved long ago. (Maybe it wasn't the best solution? Why dismiss?)

Also, I'm surprised at Sheens behaviour, because I have personally defended him against inflammatory language in the past.

The last point I am taken to task over is the length of my posts... so aside from saying, I think I take criticism on-board and try to deal with it, I'll shut up now.

I'm agree too. I think I was doing a well done job, but they've stopped me.
And "homophobic", I just said it was a disease, and the other posts was in a funny way, as you can see, I added emoticons and stuff. I really dont care, people do what they want with their lives. But I didn't even had a chance to defend myself, I wasn't even warned. But, that's the whay things works. If you want to become a mod, you have my support.

Thanks for the positive responses. I didn't actually ask for references, I'm happy to let the powers that be decide. But the support is welcome just the same.

If you want to be a moderator, you should really follow things the way they are supposed to be.
You didn't follow the correct format of application and also didn't post in the right section.

You suggest I remake the thread? I didn't want to spam... I've found the format (I think) and can amend the first post.

I realise this is the wrong place to post but others had already contributed to the thread by the time I spotted that error. :S

I think you should create a new thread there. Then, (If I was he) MentaL could simply delete this one, so it wouldn't be "spam", theoretically.

Amended to here. I know the super-mods (or higher) can merge, split or delete threads in some manner.

I always chose phpBB rather than vBulitin, so I'm not sure of the interface... let alone the admin hierarchy.

I'll find that out if my application is successful.
