Reply Notification

Well, last night I was just going around on like a few week old posts and somebody quoted to my post. I just thought it would be cool if we could get a Notification if somebody quoted to our post because It can get quite annoying not knowing that somebody quoted to your post and then checking back on a thread and realising somebody had quoted it.

PS: This would be a good feature if you were lazy like me.

PSS: It would be better if there was an option to turn this ON & OFF

If you subscribe to a thread you get email notifications when someone posts. An alert system like the one in XenForo would be pretty annoying on a large forum like this, especially if you post in a lot of sections.

Wow that would be spam , if your on a thread that has lots of reply you could have like 20 notifications at one time. If you subscribe to a thread like Hejula said you can take a look if someone has recently posted in it in your settings. Maybe if someone quotes your post then that would be good if you get a notification but not a reply to an actually thread.

You do. Well, at least I do.. Whenever somebody replies to a post I get a notification via Email, I generally find mine in the Spam bit of Hotmail.

You can set any thread you post in to notify you when a follow up is posted. (that used to be the default)

You can't track quotes any more than you can track bold text because you can quote tag any old baloney you like:-

Who's Bad?

Who's that going to notify?

Hmm.. somebody with inhuman telepathy skills? Nah, it'd be good but it'd be confusing as Bob's post says, if somebody was quoted, it could be something/somebody who isn't even on a forum. So it'd be a pointless track.
