I assume people have suggested this before, but I love the idea.
That way instead of just liking someones post you can rep that person.
It would make the forum more competitive, and fun(not that it isn't already ).

Also, it give you more of a reward.

    Think about it(:

I think the only problem would be the negative rep thing.

We had a discussion before about a dislike button which is basically like negative rep. It would be abused.

    True.
Could you make it so you can only give any Rep to the same person once a day and only 4 times a day to anyone?

That seems a little bit too limited.

Maybe there's a mod that removes negative rep.

Also, the more useless mods (we already have likes dont need this too!) the more queries made... and RZ already makes a lot of queries.

Performance over useless stuff man. least thats how I see it no clue how Dan sees it.

There is a way I've seen several forums with disabled negative rep.

Yeah like I said thats just how I see it I can't stand using resources on something like "reputation" if theres already a like system in place =p. Just my $0.02 on the matter.

    Re: Reputation

Why not just put a limit on the rep you can give a day? If 4 is too high/too low then change it to a more reasonable amount. I don't think it's that bad of an idea

VB has a decent built in rep system that I may tweak with later so if you see some new random stuff then it's me messing around.

Didn't this forum used to have a reputation system? If not, I've been on a forum with it before and it was just immense, you used to be able to give away post points as well so it deducted posts from your accounts and transferred it onto the other account you are giving reputation to and so on. I loved it.

Damn then MentaL could give me 28k

Rep system is fine, a dislike button or negative rep is just gonna cause unneeded drama, luckily most are not into it anyway

I used to be on NGU(NextGenUpdate) for awhile, when I was in my PS3 modding phase, they have it.
It was cool, you could really see who the top contributors are and stuff.
They had neg rep, but no one really abused it.
If someone did something stupid like posting a virus, they would get it, but other than that useless threads and stuff just got ignored.

They also had thanks and groans along with the rep, they didn't do anything though, just pretty much said this sucks, or it was semi-helpful.

This forum has a lot more... immature people than most.
