Shout box?
This has probably been suggested countless times, but don't you think it's a good idea?
It's a way of the community knowing each other better and another form of communication without having to post in threads or send PMs.
What is your view, shouldn't we have it?

But I don't think tinychat would help unless it had some sort of tab here on the nav bar because some people might not know the link to it and so on.
That chat is not official by the way
Another reason why it's not as good as a shout-box.
As long as there was something that all users could access to have a chat and was approved by MentaL himself, that would be enough.
FFS lol, MentaL has said no already lets just leave it at that.
There are a number of reasons as to why a shoutbox would not work on RZ,
One,
Children requesting. The chatbox would soon become a hub for new people spamming for help and advice all the time rather than checking around in the forum.
Two,
Spam. Even with out the children if you think that say 100 people talking at the same time [100 is pretty low really for Rz] you would not be able to keep up with most conversations as other conversations would be spilling in from every direction. This again would result in people spamming the same messages to get a reply.
Three,
Usage. A chatbox being used on a regular basis will quickly start to take up alot of space.
Four,
Speed. Having more to load the forum would require longer to load lowering the average speed of the site.
Five,
Mental's Preference. As owner of the site he can do as he wants and you can't Anoth Said.
Overall,
The idea of a chat box in RZ is a flawed concept that would end up just becoming another SpamZone. Also you already have multipul ways to chat with friends such as new threads, private message and visitor chat so you can always have a conversation still. Also before some one suggests IRC or such. These such chat boxs are proven to not work well with most people not taking the time to load a separate page for them. They also cost to host so with the fact most people will not use it is a waste of resources.
This mostly, all the kids will be requesting help on why they can't get their 'emulators' working and can't somehow get on their hotel. Not to mention that it'd turn into a big free-for-all flame wise.
Suggested many a times, it will create lag and alot of spam
After reading previous thread requests and replies to his thread I have started to see why he wouldn't approve of it.
I guess we've established that it's not happening so thread can be closed.

The easiest thing to do to stop people suggesting this is just open a chatango page ....

- and people can go there ? then they won't have to keep suggesting it here .
shoutbox would kill the server.
