Or, Make a system to REQUEST the name change rather then flooding the forums in the subscriber section.

Log: Current Name, New Name, Date, etc needed.

This is even better. Do you agree MentaL? A name change request,
Putting in the Currect Name (Auto), New name, Date. And then it will be sent to a place where only MentaL can watch, then he will tick a "V" near the name change requests (if he wants to accept them). He can see the IP too. The system wil lalso check for forbidden words, and if the name exists.

I want to do it manually simply so i have a record of the user/ip and others changing, plus i can deny anyone I want and it avoids any person stealing/abusing name changes.

You can also abuse it many ways like you changing your name constantly if it was automatic. You would also be able to send in like 20 name change requests which would lag the server.

In my opinion, this system would be a complete waste of time. Surely you can last up to about a week at the most before getting your username changed, right? I believe that on average it only takes around 24-48 hours anyway, not that long.

Exactly why making a Name REQUEST system is better since,


ONE. MentaL must approve.

TWO. You can probably make a column in which if it equals MORE then one in SQL, you cant change your name, and must wait a certain time period. 0 = No wait. and like 50 = 50 minutes. etc.

THREE. It's faster then making a thread.

FOUR. MentaL can log EVERY ONE thing that can happen, in a database. Even past name requests, and even approved ones. Make a system in the RaGEZONE Forum administrator panel, and make a little thing "View Current Requests", etc. Tbh, It's easy to make.

i dont see what is so hard with my current system , theres a section dedicated to changing your name.... doesn't get much easier than that... what you want requires additional resources and just adds additional complication.

Just use the section as its been used for the past few years.
