Suggestion - New Rule for All Sections

Well, I have seen so much of this I am sick of it, I would love to see this rule be implemented into all of the sections of the forum, this would change ragezone and make it more use friendly for everyone.

Rule:
Enforce the #1 Rule, NO FLAMING!

You can change any of this stuff as you wish, I just want this forum to be more user friendly. I have seen multiple people getting flamed on for posting great content, but so jerks don't appreciate anything, and they need to be punished for that kind of treatment to others. If this rule gets implemented into the ragezone forums, multiple people will be good about what they've posted and know that they released good quality, they would not feel like the person that is flaming is just a no life.

1. Always show respect towards each other. Flames and personal attacks are not welcome at RaGEZONE. This includes but not limited to; racism, xenophobia, etc.

More over so, if you can't take a bit of flaming over the internet, you obviously need to stop going on the internet. The "flaming" on threads is what certain people would consider as criticism.

I agree with you sublime, this is a suggestion to enforce the rule, not add it, sorry if I did not make it clear enough in my explanation, but, the flaming on this forum is outrageous, MentalL has picked his moderators to enforce the rules, not let them be and go on their marry ways. Thanks for your positive post Sublime, somewhat anyways. :)

He is right, almost everyone flaming each other in my section, i'm tired from reporting the messages. Anyway thanks to Darky for checking my reports ! He is a good guy.

There is a difference between constructive criticism and flaming. For example:

Constructive criticism/feedback:
"Hey man. Great release. I love it but I think you could have done X and Z a little better, other than that awesome!"

Compared to

Flaming:
"why the fuck wouldn't you do X and Z before releasing fkin stupid IMO better releases elsewhere"

I think this is what's really being put under the hammer, and I agree that not enough is being done to enforce the rule. But at the same time, mods have a lot to deal with as well. You've really got to hear from both sides before you make an unbiased judgement.

Moderators should only intervene and take action in regards to rule one when it is some sort of flame war between users and it is getting out of hand. If the rules were enforced to the letter, the community would be boring. Sometimes sections need a bit of drama and so long as it doesn't get out of hand it is fine.

You should never take the internet too seriously. If someone starts flaming you, either ignore it or constructively respond (that'll annoy them more).

I actually take flaming as a compliment, Without flaming, You wouldnt know if you need to code better, Work better, Harder etc.. Flaming is a simple way of showing whether your good or not. If you released good material, Etc, There wouldnt be flaming now would there? :)

I agree, but when I reported someone for flaming me. A Moderator (No Names because they are still well respected, don't want to get flamed) told me to grow some balls and get over it.

Well if the flaming is severe enough that it should not be tolerated in the section and you were told that, then you should go to a higher power (Tyler etc) or a Super Mod.

If it was some petty 5 year old bullshit (like someone who can't speak English very well trying to feed you a line of shit), then yeah, it's dismiss-able.

I mean I'm not really hurt by it at this point. I let it go, but some people have these beliefs that because some people have respect in that section for contributing that they should be able to flame others. I don't blame the moderator because they are and were overwhelmed with lots of work. I just think that they shouldn't have replied so rudely. It wasn't immature crap, they were just ripping me apart because of a release, and they are apparently "well-respected" members of the community.
