Sad to see JD servers almost extinct.

just as the topic title sais. only so many servers are out there and work properly let alone 24/7.

so a possible solution is necessary. if anybody would be willing to put up a host, on their computer or dedi. i would be more than willing to see that the server is kept up, and functional.

I have worked with a few jd servers along with my own. so i have the knowledge to do what is needed for a fully functional server.

There are many servers being made or tested, but not many are releasing due to the fact that they would not have much rankings. Like for me, i'm getting my server back up, but i'm doing some major editing before I do so.

ya, i think about this time last year there was a buncha servers up n running. but when condor hereos jd server went up there was a shtload of people running there. and it was only up for so long. if u or anybody can make a server based on what danny did to his, then im more than sure u would get a buncha people. to be good u need to exchange and farm like crazy, cause other servers r like wait for ur jaden to restock and u can but sigils or what not then ugrade... boring

Most of these tutorials fail to mention minor issues that when added up they make huge complications.
For instance... All of these VMWare clients that do not have
setterm -blank 0
setterm -powersave off
setterm -powerdown 0
incorporated into the .bashrc file upon screen blanking will cause a disconnect or server down status to the outside world. This is due to being on a TTY console. One difference would be the possibility of using hamachi something I myself will not incorporate.
I've already taken 8 of the found servers and managed to scrape both mysql and sql databases into one dedicated server Each for testing purposes. These are individual servers 32gig ram 2TB disk space gigabit nic's. After many hours of traversing the different posts and forums, managed to find a way to even get into that dreaded Berkley database. ;-)
Clients took a while to find the one I wanted to start with. None of the ones listed on this site. Not saying what it is just yet either.

I would also like to see a good and fun private server where we don't have to compete for jadens but only earn or just donate for items. But I think it will be hard for now to compete with Athan's added to Xtreme JD.

well.. there's a pretty good one called Age of Chaos out there.. i tried it and it doesn't really need donations.. and have some unique custom quests that official doesn't have.. custom quests as in really custom quests, new quests that you won't find anywhere in the world except in this server. ( the owner made the quests himself.. or so i was told. )

As for XtremeJD.. since its nearly similar to official, except in rates and community, i might as well go play official.

i'm actually looking for a server with combination stuff, like ideas from many MMO combined into it. i tried that Age of Chaos, it actually had a good system of farming items to exchange into other items lol. and a few bosses from WoW. well, i would love to kill a Gundam boss tho >.>

but i kinda am playing Dragon Nest with my clan right now, its strangely addictive, hopes it wears off soon :S
