Realm names on ubuntu 13.10 release can be fixed ?

So on what OS i can run the server ? i tryed on CentOs 6.4 , 5.8 and didnt work , i cant get a centOs 4.8 , so can anyone help me up ?

Real names will not work on anything besides Centos 4.8 or lower or Redhat 4.8 or lower and posisbly older Ubuntu too but Im unsure of that as I dont touch ubuntu much but will nto work on any of the newer OS due to library problem between the old and new
The optimal setup on a windows home environment would be to get redhat 4.8 not the stripped crap they release sohave a fw tools at least and then run mysql from lampp or on a diff newer server as native on redhat 4.8 cant install mysql 5 and then u have issues with that
Pu tit in virtual box in that setup
If gonna get a dedicated do not get a full dedicated but get a vmware server esxi where you can stil use the redhat image or older os, most data centers will not install anything but the new stuff
Centos 4.8 is ok but if want tools like yum you have to do some tweaks and workarounds to make it work

some of you need to do some trial and error and learn not just expect everyone to fix your servers for you I perosnally don;t mind helping but I dont share things learned by over 6 years of testing and trial and error to often, you will never be able to deal with issues that arise if someone does all the work for you. these releases are very very buggy and the editors are even worse it takes alot of tweaking and testing even if been oing this for years

Anyone have a WORKING npggen editor or task editor for this version ?
npcgen is a mandatory without it cant do much of anything custom have tested 4 or 5 inlcuding one everyone bene suing for coupel years now none work, either corrupts the file or doesnt add new in

@Exotic2012 - I was surfing the mcncc.com forums and found a download for the 1345 server that came with an npcgen editor (including other tools), and it does work. -I'll look for it n upload-

Thanks Ill try that npcgen thats my issue atm trying to get the guy purchsing my whoel business setup game side got the server all workign and interserver etc easy enough but having some issues with tools had so thx

Can anyone help me up to setup the server on Vbox ? I have instaled the Vbox and made in the Vbox Centos 4.8 but afther im done instaling , says Booting Kernel and freazes :| nothing more , my server stats are like this : 6 Cores i7 , 16 GB RAM , so i dont think it cuz of the RAMs , Please some help T_T

After I installed Ubuntu 13.04 (32 bit - desktop version) *well that's what I'm using.
I installed The server
After that I installed libstdc++5 because that was the cause of not starting up gs.
Then I updated the lsb files/things of ubuntu, after that I installed ssh to allow winscp to connect to the database.
Then I replaced the files in /root/server/gamed/config/ with official server (455) files and changed the VIPAward.data to vipaward.data in the gs.config

(-Note: i deleted the VIPAward.data file but it kind of gives you that *server update in progress* for some reason so i kept it-)

After that I checked the table.xml in /root/server/authd/build/ to check if the password and user was correct.
Then i started up the server and it worked

Yeah the realm names don't work - but otherwise you can login and play still.

i need realm names work , im gona run the server with 4-5 realms , will be pain in the ass with no realm names ...

I have a centos 4.8 vbox setup for game I think let me see where left off on that if ready ill pack it up and upload for you
Also remember that while redhat 4.8 and centos 4.8 fixes realms you either have to use lampp or external for mysql and or apache as the versions that match these versions will not work for these games and definitely have security conxerns

Im at hospital atm mobile ill see what vms have in both vmwate and vbox willing to share lster today. I usually build in both and keep a master of each os on both for later quick deployment

As far as releasing the fully working interserver setup I cant do that as in procezs of selling my corporation so I dont won it no more im just helping the new owner get this debugged some then im done with the headaches
I can tell you though that the interserver problems can be solved just by doing the config files correctly and the config files in configs.pck.
You need to adjust configs in gamesys.conf think was gdeliveryd gameddb ones then the gs.conf and alias files on interserver
When fixed function works perfect but when tranfsers you get a realm busy error poup sending you here but iys actually sending you correct
I have to find and disable the warning thing as thete in actuality is no issue

I have tryed with vmWare and via VMware , no image starts , Says something about hypervisor , and that it wont start if i dont disable it , and idk how to do that ....

My dedicated host doesnt take vm ware, Id just like to knwo if i can run the game with centos later then 4.9 i dont care for realm names, I just need the game to be up and running. lol so all I need is how to configure everything correctly, I have been trying for a while now... nothing works.
