    MineCraft Release 1.21 GB [1,296,222,990 bytes]

    NEWEST UPDATE - updated_files.iso - or - updated_files.iso

    I do not plan on supporting this release as extensively as I've supported some of my other "releases" but, I really wanted to do this release since I heard they "pulled" the ability to download CraftBukkit. This release is pulled from a live working server environment (off of a server I run for my kids), MINUS some of the "personalization items" such as my actual personal live configuration files (with personal stuffs like server name etc), and maps. The rest of this matches a decent (IMHO) running server. Natively I run MC/CB on Linux/Unix (and would highly recommend this as the words Windows and Server DO NOT belong in the same sentence together! ROFL) Though I realize it will run on either (Win or Linux/Unix) so I attempted to kind of tailor the release to BOTH OS's (again, there wont be extensive support).

    This package includes the following:

    SERVER:
    -MineCraft / CraftBukkit 1.6.4 (a stable release) [1.6.4-R2.0]{build 2918}
    -MineCraft / CraftBukkit 1.7.2 (a beta release) [1.7.2-R0.3]{build 3020}
    -MineCraft / CraftBukkit 1.7.9 (a beta release) [1.7.9-R0.2]{build 3092}
    -MineCraft / CraftBukkit 1.8 (an unofficial release) [1.8-R0.1]{build ?}

    If you touch nothing and run it as installed, it will run version 1.8 Though all the versions listed are included. Advanced users will have no problem spotting this and changing versions as all I did was add an extension for each minecraft.jar.xxx. So there are minecraft.jar (which is 18), then there are minecraft.jar.164 - minecraft.jar.172 - minecraft.jar.179 - minecraft.jar.18 [if you can't figure out what to do to run the different versions with this description, you probably should not be running a server of ANY type]. In linux, say, to start running version 164 instead - a simple "cp minecraft.jar.164 minecraft.jar" will do the trick. Just don't overwrite the .xxx files and you'll always have all 4 versions (and or make sure to save the original server ISO). The server plugins that are installed are pretty simplex, and if I recall correctly all of these plugins actually work for all 4 different server versions WITHOUT ANY NEED OF BEING CHANGED. That's right (if I remember right) you can use all these plugins with 164, or 172, or 179, or 18 and NOT have to change the plugin version! That being said, the included plugins are as follows:

    -AuthMe - to provide an authentication system so that cracked clients can connect as well as legit clients.
    -CommandBlocker - to block certain commands you may not want 'standard' users to see (such as /version or /plugins)
    -GriefPrevention - When I was brand new to MC I was really surprised something like this wasn't part of vanilla servers (as my kids had destroyed each others shit within one day of when I first set up a vanilla server), so this plugin goes without saying is NECESSARY - I at the bottom end of things have this set up as a LAND CLAIMING TOOL, this way other people can't grief and break other peoples shit! I don't have the defaults set up for this plugin, the "TOOL" to "check to see if land is claimed" is BOOK (think of the book as a place to keep records / deeds), the "TOOL" to CLAIM land is a (single piece of) PAPER (think of claiming your land on a single sheet of paper / deed, [it then gets added to the BOOK]). Of course you can mod the settings/configs for this at your own will, but this is what I found to be easiest - BOOK & PAPER
    -HomeSpawnWarp - Exactly as its name implies , use this plugin to set up "home" "spawn" and "warps"
    -MultiVerse : Core - Inventories - Portals : CORE - This is so you can have tons of different "worlds" all within ONE physical server. By default (this release) it's actually set up to have 5 worlds for the server. One for CREATIVE, one for SURVIVAL, one for ADVENTURE, one for NETHER, one for THE_END [you will have to spawn all these worlds/maps if you want to utilize them all]. The INVENTORIES is there of course so people can't go to say a creative world, and give themselves free items (cheat) to bring back to survival mode. PORTALS - again, exactly as it sounds, with this plugin you can make portals between "worlds".
    -StarterKit - Give all new players starting items / kit. This by default passes out to all new players the BOOK and PAPER needed to check for land claims, and make land claims.
    -WorldEdit - this should be self explanatory by name too, it's a world editor! (there IS a client side mod for this too, which is NOT included in this release or the clients from this release).

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    LINUX / UNIX USERS:
    To install this server, simply mount the disc/ISO and run ./install-mc
    MineCraft / CraftBukkit will actually be installed as a "system service / daemon", so, all you have to do to start the server is reboot after installing!

    WINDOWS USERS:
    1) insert disc (or mount ISO)
    2) navigate to "windows" DIRECTORY on the disc/ISO
    3) RUN install-mc.exe
    4) make sure if you don't already have JAVA installed, install the one included in the release
    5) run the server (start.bat)[in 25565]

    Beyond that, you will have to play with the configurations and or plugins (and or their configurations) to suit to your wants and needs. If you don't like my configurations at all, it's really simple to go back to fully default configurations, just delete all the configuration files, then the next time you run the server the defaults will be generated! I'm not sure how well this set up would do for a really "LARGE" server (IE reliability or security of plugins for example), all I do know is, it seems like a nice vanilla+ server that doesn't contain anything super fancy (and is pretty much my version of what I would think vanilla should be anyway). It seems to work just fine as a production server for me though (bearing in mind it's not public - it's pretty much family / friends / invite only). I do not make any claims to the client(s), those were made by "TeamExtreme" and are simply included, because, well, you can't have a server and no client (or visa versa)!

    I'd like to add that there are already configurations in place to host a "world" of each play style all on the one server. If you'd like to utilize these, after installing the server and starting a server with just the default world(s) of "world" and "the_end" and "nether", you can add one for ADVENTURE, CREATIVE, and SURVIVAL where the default created "world" is the "hub world" (creative mode as well). Simply run the command to create these worlds using multiverse and the configuration(s) are already in place:

    such as:

    /mv create adventure NORMAL -t LARGEBIOMES -a true
    /mv create creative NORMAL -t LARGEBIOMES -a true
    /mv create survival NORMAL -t LARGEBIOMES -a true

    Then of course you can create portals, warps, homes and the like in any of these places or game modes, all on the one server! (and so you can "move" between all the different "worlds"). To "teleport" between worlds as an admin use /mvtp #worldname # - but you still will want to set up ways for normal "users" to traverse between the worlds, such as portals or /warp spots. For all the different possibilities I recommend looking at the documentation for all the plugins individually. I can, for the most part, support the release itself, but I do not know everything about every plugin and how others may desire to use the server setup (maybe) differently than I do.

    That being said I also (sadly) cannot support using a VPN (hamachi) for this, as this is a real server set up / installation. For it to work as a "public" server you will need to know basic networking and how to assure port 25565 is open and or forwarded to the proper server/computer/machine.

    LINUX NOTES:
    -This package was designed for Debian based Linux, more specifically Ubuntu. Even more specifically Ubuntu Server 12.04.3 x64.
    -This package MUST be installed as root (user name "root").
    -This package MUST be installed on an x64 system (x86 not supported [cmon update your hardware!]).
    -This package comes with java 7u80 / jdk1.7.0_80 in /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_80 -- if you add/remove/change/modify/touch Java you will have to edit accordingly in the file "start" @ /mcserver/start as this file directly calls the specific directory /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_80 in order to start the MC server.
    -This package needs ia32-libs for the built in rcon. If you install on Ubuntu Server 12.04.3 x64 -- ia32-libs will be installed even "offline" (built into the installer). If you install on any version other than Ubuntu Server 12.04.3 x64 the installer will prompt you if you would like to install ia32-libs from the internet -- if you would like the built in rcon to work, you have to install ia32-libs either when it asks you, or on your own after installation.

    Re: [RELEASE] MineCraft [MULTI-VERSION]

    This release has now been updated. It now includes version 1.8! For those who missed it I wished everyone a Merry Christmas by releasing just 1.8 separate from the package. Upon preliminary testing it does seem 1.8 works with all the plugins included in this package, so today I updated the entire package to reflect and include version 1.8. So, early Happy New Year! Enjoy the new package and 1.8!

    Re: [RELEASE] MineCraft [MULTI-VERSION]

    Okay, between my family/kids and playing on RaGECRAFT, I have totally gotten "into" MineCraft. IE: I am saying this package is quite possibly due for many ongoing updates/support

    I say that because I am working on one as we speak (which will include the newest 1.8 snapshot @ time of release/update) and will contain many new (optional) plugins (which wont be installed to run 'natively' w/ the server but rather will be included on the mc_dev.iso)...

    - - - Updated - - -

    ...And I say all that because I have thrown up a server for family and friends to play on but never really played myself. Now that my family/kids/friends have gotten me to play, and I have played on RaGECRAFT I have taken a liking to (playing) the game personally. Therefore I now have a much greater vested interest in all things MC... ... ... Including this release/package

    Re: [RELEASE] MineCraft [MULTI-VERSION]

    Since the development of Spigot / CraftBukkit 1.8 is very active I will be updating this quite frequently, keep your eyes on the "last edited" field of the first post in case I decide not to announce every little update...

    Re: [RELEASE] MineCraft [MULTI-VERSION]

    Alright, I just did another pretty major update to this package!

    It contains (yet again) the newest builds of CraftBukkit, Spigot, and Bukkit.

    but even more importantly the Java was updated (from 1.7.0_72 / 7u72) to reflect the newest release of Java - 1.7.0_76 (7u76)...

    Also for the Linux side, I noticed for some reason I had the normal JRE, that has been replaced with "Server JRE" as well as updated from u72 => u76

    ¤ Enjoy! ¤

    Keep your eyes peeled for all the upcoming updates then. I know they're very active on working on it because I "blinked" (helped my friend all weekend w/ his PC stuff) and I run /ver now to find out I'm somehow already 7 versions (builds) behind. So, I will be keeping this release updated fairly frequently - at least hopefully until they come out with a 'beta' or a 'stable' over a 'development' / 'snapshot'... ... ...

    Also watch the "Last edited:" field of the OP because I may not always announce updates <.<
