[dev] guide for adding channels / servers [pk][normal]

Edit: Can This Be transfered to Release Section sir Mod?^__^ or should i make another thead in release section?^__^ thnx

ok its getting really hard. haha cuz im a noob. . now im thinking of running 2 servers in 1 comp^__^ but the other one is in vmware^__^ could this be ok?? ill just link the vmware to my real pc.. and run the 2 servers??^__^

    ^__^

Heres What ive got^__^ so far no good haha^__^

RUN MORE SERVERS ON ONE COMPUTER

My 1st TIP/Guide did not turn out right so i changed it to another TIP/Guide^__^ hehehe

1st what we need it ofcourse VMWare^__^

    Download VMware http://www.vmware.com/download/ws/

    Next We need a 32bit XP Professional^__^

now we will use torrent to download this. .

    1st download utorrent.exe found at http://utorrent.com/

now after installing utorrent lets download the 64bit xp professional in .torrent file

    xp professional.torrent here
    http://www.torrenthub.org/torrent/2124614/windows-xp-pro-sp3-x86-(32-bit)-retail-+-genuine-serial-rezman1984-7z.html

    VMware.torrent here

    http://www.monova.org/details/471751...0.3.80004.html

BUT a FRIEND OF MINE x103strike
    RECOMMENDS THIS:
windows xp performance edition the 200mb one its very fast! it doesnt take much ram from the vmware!

so heres a download link for that windows xp performance edition!

    http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3702...rmance_Edition

now after downloading the xp professional.torrent run it using utorrent,

&& wait till it finishes downloading,

Next is you install VMWare while waiting to finish the download.

After the install, & when download is done

    start VMware server console

    Start a new virtual machine,

    w/ the following options

    Chose Typical

    Next

Guest Operating System : Microsoft Windows
    Version : Windows XP Professiona

Virtual Machine Name : FLYFF Server / Anything u like
    Location : anywhere^__^

Network Connection : Use Bridge Connection

    DiskSize[GB] : 8GB

Check : Allocate All Disk Space Now

    Then FINISH!

    Wait till it finishes. ..

    Now START Your Virtual Machine

Install your windows through the .iso you have just downloaded

--->ill add more info on how later^__^

after installation, you are now ready,

Download Server Files of FLYFF to Your Windows XP ProfessionalVirtual Machine

Install needed database, Configure, & Test RUN it^__^

    *Note

-->Forward your ports on your Virtual Machine too^__^
-->Use your virtual machine LAN IP Address

GUIDE STILL UNDERSONSTRUCTION! ILL BE ADDING MORE TO THIS SOON!
STILL TESTING! & ONLY A THEORY! TELL ME IF IM WRONG^__^ WELL IF IM WRONG PLEASE DELETE THIS SIR/MA'AM

    Code:
Now ill just be making a channel add guide. .

the thing is using 1 login 2 char 2 world

so players can choose if they want high rate channel or low rate channel , pk channel or non pk channel..

i got it a little bit to work. . now im working on guide^__^

i saw people asking for help in making 2 servers in one computer. . so im trying this right now. . im almost done. . but i have a little problem^__^ but ill try to fix it! i would just like to introduce this. . maybe someone had made a guide of this already so i can stop making mine^__^

You can't REALLY host two servers on the same computer, you know.

the best you can do is display it for debug reasons. You will confuse the hell out of your code and server because each channel requires an identical ip address. having the same ip with two servers can have disastrous effects.

Re: [dev] Support 2 servers in one computer

Good luck I have tried this before.. and you need at least 2 different computers for different servers/channels.. the best you could do is have 1 server with 3 channels but all the channels are going to be linked.. Sutch as if I'm in channel 1 and a friend is in channel 2 we can see each other if your at the same place.. thats my results.. but Good luck I'm not telling you not to try it.. I'm just sharing my experiences..

owh? well ur replys really clears things out. . now ill just try adding channel^__^. .

anyways @blazingracer. . i think the reason why u see each other is bcoz ur using the same map server for each channel^__^

how about using two pc someone tried???
my other pc cannot connect to my MySQL that's why I did not able to try XD

Re: [dev] guide for adding channels [pk][normal]

I dont this this would work in one pc and not even in two using one router, since the port to connect would be used by the first cluster(thats why you port forward and put just one ip). But keep trying :P

Re: [dev] guide for adding channels [pk][normal]

works for my server only difference is you have to raname it to a 2nd database so that it runs its own set..

everything would forward to the local host wich then the server would do the work from there..

Re: [dev] guide for adding channels [pk][normal]

That VMWare idea is not a good one. VMware takes up CPU/ RAM, So, If you run it, you will be using up a whole lot of unnecessary RAM. You're far better off with one server.

Re: [dev] guide for adding channels / servers [pk][normal]

using the same Ip's but not the same pc's XD
now!! I run the 2 worldserver different PC's but it will still linked XD (there is no hope XD) tsk2x

even in making another database and running 2 char server and 2worldserver will still linked
( I change already the owner and the id XD and the port)

T__T ( this don't have hope proceed to diferre IP's_
    Using Different world Ip's

now I tried using different IP in channel to but what happen is it cannot connect to the worlserver of the channel 2 XD
I'll try to find another way next time

I think this is my last Hope XD ( using different IP's ) [ I chnaged the IP of the worldserver as the channel to you can also make another server by changing its Ip to dont forget to change tha ID of the second char and the second world XD or it will linked]
this is my just my contribution for now

Re: [devguide for adding channels / servers [pk][normal]

    Successful I've made it ^____^
    Making 2 server w/ 1 channel each ^__^ using two PC's XD

    Screenies XD

as you can see it has 2 server bubble and shade hahaha XD

    Shade:

Bubble: and as you can see it is only running the charserver and worlserver

but this is still the same in vmware XD hahahaha but vmware is using 1 PC XD

    Guide XD
    1st Server
    1. in the host computer in MySQl you should enable root access from remote machines
    2. run the 1 server Log,Char,World
2nd server note: we are making 2nd server so different database
    1. now in the second server edit the char server IP to the IP of the computer hosting the second server but the ISC is the IP of hosting the login server( a bout the database it depends on you XD who PC's host it XD)
    2. follow the instruction 1 for the worldserver (it's the same)
    3. now change the ID of the charser(2nd server XD) to 4
    4. now change also the ID of the world to 5 and change the owner to 4

    Now you have two server
but there is problem doing this I think we need to have 3 database
    explanation XD

database for the loginserver(accounts)[note only account database]
database for the 1st server (char and world)
database for the 2nd server (char and world)

we need to make 3 database intact which means it should be the same so if you make a registration page make it sure it will register in 3 databse but in other stuff like buffs webpage it should only be connect to the 2 database server 1 and server 2

Note: if your planing to make a lot of server don't forget to change the ID and the owner XD
as you notice in my explanation 3 and 4 (in the second server)
we change the ID in the char and ID and owner in the world (do this or else I dont know what will happen it will linked I think)
so if you will make another 1 server which we will call 3rd server change the ID to 6 in the char and the Id of the world to 7 and owner to 6 XD change the server IP's also to the IP's of the computer running it

I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND I TRIED MY BEST XD

YOU CAN DO THIS USING 1 PC BUT IN VMWARE XD AS majidemo PUT IN HIS GUIDE ( this is just the config part XD if your trying to make a lot of servers or channels in 1 PC [but I think no need to make a lot of channel 2 channel is ok already for pk and none pk])
give cridets if your planing to release this XD
pls dont flame I tried my best on this XD
