    [Dev] Project Glaphan - v6 Emulator


    Progress:



    Authentication Server: 100%
    Login Server: 80%
    World Server 50:
    ISC: 100% built into auth server.

    5-14-09 Finished AuthServer. Finishing up Login Server.
    6-10-09 Finished Login Server. Working on new systems for World Server.

    Done:

    ISC
    Login and Character System.
    Split the Char and Login Server into separate instances for better control.
    Integrated ISC into Login to hook into the rest with out adding an extra program.
    Mover system is done.

    ToDo:
    Better ItemBank system. Nearly done. Finish the vagrant skill
    Add in PK and PvP
    NPC Spawning

    Credits:

    Special Update: Having researched some things and discovered some overlooked things. The mob, mover and player systems are going into a rewrite and when a stable test goes out, I will restructure the socket system.

    Welcome to the development thread for the first retro server for FlyFF. This project, working title of course, is intended to be for people wanting to relive the best system made for an MMORPG. The PXP system was without a doubt the best way to play because you earn your skills by spamming and using them to help you level. No longer will the Skill Points plague your mind as to where to put them. You want GT, then spam the hell out of the required spells and skill until you can use them.

    A second thing will be the old PvP system. Meaning you attack anyone over level 15 and get a red name. You die and you are sent to prison where you will work off your "sentence" by kiling "criminal" mobs in the prison island Kerebras. Hopefully the Blue names will make a comeback as well.

    So what will not be in the initial release?

    Well, for starters, Azria is reverting back to Kerebras. No more tickets that costs 15+ milion penya or CS points. All you need to do is get a red name, die and bam you are in Kerebras.

    The next thing is the high level mobs above lv101 I think, are no more as well as the desert with the Muffrin's and stuff.

    Master and Hero are gone. Never really got that high in the officials so I can't say for sure if it was a good system. For this project, I don't care.

    Let see, what else. Oh, um buff pets are gone. However looter pets should still be there as they are present in the res files, like soccer ball angels and hamsters and whatnot.

    So pretty much all that CS crap they pump in you like cheap drugs are gone. This is bare bones, hardcore gaming at its best. CW like it should be. Skills before being nerfed because too many players bitched about being pwned in the old Arena. Oh, yea, the arena is now back in Saint Morning. SM Dungeon is gone, and I think Dekanes is as well.

    The servers will be split like Fame's is and will be aptly named: Auth, Login, and a World server to which you can name your self. ISC will be built into the auth server and web the three together.

    I'm making the pictures as we speak so they should be up soon. stay tuned.

    oh, and for people that think the v6 is a waste of time, either you never experienced it or you didn't understand it and waited till it was revamped. And the source will not be released until its done. Thanks for that in return.

    If you need help with the project, I was a hardcore player that time, infact I was in the level 90's even back then..
    I remember everyone was leveling at glaphans to acheive another level, (don't know the max level but sooner or later you CANT move on due to the exp gain is 0.00000000000000000000001% per mob in the end), but the highest one I leveled with was a level... 107 I think.
    Captain Glaphans, which are level 103. That means 107 was like becoming hero today.
    This gave only the Strongest ability to get highest level, and no block, you can level a whole day in the end to just get 0.01% and STILL you CAN fight other people with leveling.
    Hero system cuts this off totally which means you can only compete with what you buy (and its a redirect to the cash shop to get better eq = LAME ISNT IT???).
    I know all about it, if I were to write it down, I can make a book store of lame things between v6 and v11.

    If it is v6, then the project should be v6 client aswell, and that means alot of things will be removed such as:
    - Stats pet
    - Arena (SM Arena, only able to kill like "arena" on a PK server, the rest is ONLY pvp (request))
    - Everywhere PvP (it will only be avaible on the SM arena)
    - Azria (as you said it will turn into Kebaras, this is in the client so therefore we must use v6 client)
    - Several pickup pets will be removed, (aibatt, luia .. etc will stay)
    - Again, every monster in deset (except dump and grr).
    - Volcano will be removed completely.
    - SM Dungeon will be removed completely.
    - 1vs1 system (the event one were you can watch) will be removed completely.
    - PK System will be the best one that ever been on earth, were you hit someone, get pink and that does NOT allow you to kill because then you get red, (i think) but anyway...
    - Lodelight will come back (stand in a lodelight and a pker cannot attack you) ~ WE ALL LOVE THIS WE WHO PLAYED V6!

    Yes, for the PK system you could hit someone and only get a tan'ish/orange'ish name. It's not until you actually kill them that you get a purple name. Then after a while of killing and building up karma you get a red name.

    something that may be of some use that i've had since v7 ( works for v6 pvp system )

    Max level was 120, but like funkynicco said, you were unable to get to it :P
    I think that we can "keep" pets(pick up), mobs and maps that we want, just like people put v12 and v13 maps/mobs/items and call it v12/13 server.
    For example keep desert mobs would make people able to get to level 120.

    I also like the idea of having some of the newer stuff being implemented into it as well. Although I think right now it should be more of a straight up v6 server, and then later on after it's all completed people can add whatever they want to it. Would make things a bit easier on Glaphan's end, so that he didn't have to worry about those things, and a bit easier on the players ends, so that they can add specifically what they want to it and not have anything they wish to not be there, there.

    Yeah, I think it should be kept strictly V6. Later on, revision packs can be released after the core project is done that will add v7-v13 stuff.

    I am super excited for this. FlyFF v6 was my favorite version. Good luck on this project.

    (I am looking forward to a non-nerfed Crucio and Blinkpool!)

    BlackBox and Totakeke are correct. the v6 core is going to be done first and then I will give the ability to "upgrade" to higher versions while keeping the core intact. so you can have your custom maps, models, textures and other stuff later on.

    lol Im not saying that gk should add newer things, but that it is possible and people will do it.
    Even at his first release of just binaries, people can modify the v6 client and release the modifications, then who want to use 100% v6 use how it is, who want some new things take the modifyied client from whoever released it :P
    It would take out the pressure from gk of making it and give people a way to get to 120 and have nice pets(or not at all since it became a farm instead of just pickup pets '-')

    you know alls you need is the prisons islands map file then go into data.res go to define world and define it as a diffrent world no need to overide an already pre existing one

    Apparently you didn't read anything. This is NOT v11/12/13. This is a retro server from v6 before all the drastic changes to the system.

    This is a completely different project unaffiliated with anything done so far. The code may be similar but it will be a stand alone project.

    Truth be told I wanted to do this from the very beginning.
