    Flyff Hybrid Files

    Hello everyone.

    In this Thread I want to present my new project, named: "Flyff v6 / v15+ Hybrid Files".
    These Files will include Features from the old pre v7 Versions, like Collecting System, PK System and more. In Future when the Projekt is nearly finished I will release the full Source (+ Resource).

    UpdateLog:
    17.09.2012:
    • Because of some Databaseissues I had to remove the PK System and now I have to restart coding it (but now without Bugs, etc.). The first preview Video have to wait a few days.

    21.09.2012
    • I added a small Funktion which sends a message to the Server if a hack is detected. I will use this in future Security Updates
    • Some security holes are now fixed, like the Asal and HoP Attack Range or some Crashpackets
    • A basic concept for the PK System is now finished. I will start working on it right now.

    - The propItem.txt is nearly finished (15% left)

    I started to decrease the complexity of the itemupgrade ( I will add an Scroll which you use to enchant your weapon. This System will replace the Awakening for Weapons / Armor and the "Scroll of Str/Sta/Dex/Int"-System). So there will be only:
    • normal Upgrade (with Oris/shinis)
    • Ultimate Gem Upgrade
    • the new Upgrade ( I will name it Item-attachment )
    • Sockel ( I will maybe decrease the strength of this System )

    Good luck Tex0, if you need help on testing or stuff, send me a pm, i got a v5 test server using official files, anythign you need just trow me a pm, also got some suggesitons for some options, in the options window, since such as the glow option, and that stuff. C:

    Sounds really nice and I saw a private youtube video there you showed the v6-v7 collecting system from monster :p

    I really want to see how much this can grow ^^

    Depends what you want to do. If you want to completely rebuild and fix Flyff to be a proper MMORPG, I recommend removing the awakening system, as it has many flaws. It's too random, overpowered, and in general unbalanced/anti-specialization. It also adds to the complexity of weapon upgrading, which is already high. This may anger some players though, so I don't recommend it unless you're going to do a major overhaul on the entire game.

    I could go on all day about what you should add to make the game better. The biggest issue of Flyff is the lack of end-game content. You could start with adding some.

    According to what mootie said I agree with him For example there should some skills like jumping at enemy and silencing them that would be made exactly for pvp fights. Also 1v1 fights should be changed to some thing like u challenge enemy and u make it for example 5pm server time and he accepts it you will fight for honor points or something there should be also fights like 3v3 or 5v5.... Guild siege is just funny thing which is frustrating because there are so many bugs that it shouldn't ever be applied. For example it makes you leave party. Then you can get invited to other party that is out of combat.... or freezes that I saw people respawn on one of the points and they can do nothing + you can't attack them TROLOLO.

    Hey Guys,
    again some big Update for today:
    07-10-12
    - I started in adding some Features of the old PK System, today I completely included the old Prison Island /w Quests, etc.
    - I did some tweaks to the Mob Collect
    - The propitem.txt is nealry finished ( 5 % left )
    Tomorrow I will upload a new Video in which you will see the Prison Island, the Season System, the Day and Night System and maybe the Repair-System.

    Please post suggestions, Ideas everything which could help me to improve my work.

    As mootie said Flyff need more end-game content.. right now you can find PvP ( Arena, GW, PK ) Systems and that is good so but what's about dungeons, instances, etc. The amount of high level dungeons, etc. is too small.
    Now my first Question is what's your opinion about adding more small Dungeons or a really big one with many Bosses and things to explore(<-- This is what I would prefer ). Those new dungeons could bring a couple of new quests, items and challenges.

    My second Question is what else could I add ?

    Fix the current dungeons before working on new ones...

    1. Threat System is almost essential. Note that this would require certain skills to generate more threat than others. Templar/Force Master/Mentalist should be the main tanking classes because they're medium damage output classes that tend to have a good amount of HP & defense. Seraph/Arcanist/Crackshooter could have lesser tanking abilities, considering they can either support or DPS very efficiently.

    2. Scripting System(Look at TrinityCore or MaNGOS emulators for ideas on implementations) including quests, dialog, boss phases, and triggers. This allows developers that don't have full source access to create fully instanced dungeons.

    3. Better drop distribution system, it's too easy for someone to just run off with all of the items after the boss is dead. A score system would go nicely with this.

    Hmm what about making the third thing that lethal mentioned to be shown in user interface + monsters affected by that so when for example Blade has 90k points at the moment and it is the highest then bosses should attack him but the best drop should be his.

    @Edit: Tanks should get really many points by just getting hit :P.

    Now the Database stuff of an PlayerScore System is basicly done. In future I will completely implemet it to the Game which means by doing a certain action the player will get points (for example by killing a monster of Captain Ranking the player will get 1 Point).
    This System could be used to control for example some dropactions.

    Serversided stuff is now completely done. Client sided comes later -_-
