in topic: i really don't understand why not to release this fuckin source..
if people release compiled executables, you complain about "n00bs ignorant leechers" who steal other people work and so on
if people release source (like now), you say it suck too and begin the same fuckin drama for misterious reasons
this is a development forum so why not release the source? this can be the revolution on stable customizable server that we all are waiting for..without the 100k projects that born here and die in 1-2 weeks.
so please don't ask why peolpe don't collaborate in development of servers..this means closing the doors of a possible reborn of the development section, where people can begin to start learning c++ for a concrete reason. now they just download the programs and run it. just think about it.
and please don't start the drama about people l33ch0rz of the holy aeonsoft's code who will eat your hard work..
leecherz without any knowledge of compilers simply won't be able to compile the code nor to add/customize stable code in client/server side, so there is really no problem about it
and, anyway, remember that any "german" kid, soon or later, will write down this stupid password on a forum and make this public. it's just a matter of time, and imo it's better not to be selfish or blind.
ps: please don't say i wrote that just for my profit, because i don't know c++ and so i won't be able to do anything now. just do it for skilled people who can do something with it

@Guy with big post, There are people here who will release the source if they crack it, but there is also those who have cracked it and decided to keep it for themselves. There is also those who decide to be posers and SAY they cracked it, which they didn't and notice how they aren't here right now? There is also someone who CLAIMED gala will sell you the source for a price, though that's total bullshit.
So yeah, no one is complaining about it right now, everyone is trying to find the password for the source even though we only have rumors pushing us forward.

uhm if u need the password its actually so obvious a shot in the dark would be right im not gonna tell u cuz as honne say greedy greedy people but then again i don't think it would be a good idea for this source to be public
when u get in ull know what i mean
if u need a way to crack it threes a few tools that can do it in under an hour but again greedy so not gonna tell ya what they r .-.
don't take this post the wrong way its not to discourage any one but more to let u know that yes few people have opened it and once they saw what was in it they don't want it to be public so just keep that in mind when you eventually do discover the pw

You used the source from a link to the source that heathj discoverd i recommend you to pm heathj the password we don't want another awesome developer quit the flyff scene.

Aren't we all in the same league? We're fighting over who "deserves" stolen source files, when in reality, none of us deserve it since it isn't ours nor did we code it ourselves. Aeonsoft did.

He's got little to nothing out of finding it, if this community is gonna work together, we should at least help out the people who have helped us. heathj released the link, therefore he helped you, why not help him? +1 But in general the source should never be owned by just a "few persons" as it does NOT belong to them at all, the source are made by aeonsoft which means it's theirs so the only option a person has with this or any other archive that contains flyff sourcecode would be to release it to the public or delete it from their computer.

Well did it never occurr to you that most developers here including me and duotone DOESN'T code a flyff server just to host it? We do it because of the knowledge within and it being fun. And in general for me Flyff is a fun game to play so it makes emulating a server funnyer. And to be honest this source helps us emulator developer to get the packets right, the formulas correct and the way it should work correctly as well, but so far the sourcecode has been passed along people who doesn't know a shit about advanced programming and that's just against the nature in my opinion. And I can probably go on for hours and hours speaking about this because it really isn't fair for a "set of special VIP persons" to have the archive and I'm sure everyone who actually don't have the password for this archive agrees to it.

I agree I was just pointing out it's VERY unfair on heathj if the password is not given to at least him. :P

So true, it's very elitist and biased to single out everybody t hat you don't think "deserves" source/files/binaries/etc of anything just because you want to control who gets what. There is always leechers in every community, from coding, art, literature, music, etc. There will ALWAYS be somebody to steal your work and claim it as theirs or use your work without contributing. That's just life. In a way we're all leechers. We use furniture made from other companies, we use clothing made in other countries, we even use software and OS systems that were made by other companies. We're almost all literally leechers whether it's minor or major.

im not using the source files. already deleted em just liked the challenge and if heath really wants the pw i know 5 people who figured it out before me and im sure he does too so if they haven't told him y should i? .-.
