Please do not misunderstand this, but I don't have an iPhone nor will I have one any time soon. My crew does not own them either.
We are not making money off of this, using texture files, actual models, etc. As per the guidelines of copyright, we are well within the creative copyrighting in that if you take something, change it more than 25%, you can apply for a copyright on that particular product or program.
I know this because I have sued fellow web designers for stealing layouts, and have been shot down because it only resembled a piece of it. I was outraged but the law is the law.
What you cannot do is recreate the game using their textures, sounds, models on another platform without their consent.
Rest assured that should we ever decide to make money off of this, the idea will be pitched to the original gaming company first, and possibly sell it to them. I've done this before with smaller games and whatnot.
I've been in the business for a while now and I know this is only illegal should we sell this to the highest bidder without alerting or communicating with the original company.
MasterBlaster is in talks with some reps from Aeonsoft, thank god because I don't speak a word of korean, so we might be aquiring permission to use the name in its entirety.
As for the Zune. It reminds me when they were going to make MGS4 cross platform, but decided to keep it on the PS3. I don't own one but that's just the way it is. Certain platforms are better than others and mobile devices have made giant strides in the past few years. I'm not ruling out the iPhone but since the recent uTorrent debacle with the iPhone, I doubt it will find a home there.
Underground is out of the question as I prefer to become legit.
and if in the end, we cannot use the game, the engine will already be done and we are prepared to transform it into something else. Its already been planned out.
