Greetings Flyffers,

As promised and as announced in the previous two newsletters, we will be holding a Database maintenance where we will be purging old and unused characters.

This Character Purge will occur next week, on May 31st during regularly scheduled maintenance time (8 PM PST - 11 PM PST).

While the full details are explained below, all you need to do to keep your characters is simply to have logged into them within the past 6 months. If you are unsure, it is strongly recommended that you log into any characters that you wish to keep within the next few days!

But I guess they do it to get a clear shot of how many people there are active or just cleaning db xD

They can't be bothered to sit down a whole day(s) , look through databases of characters that haven't login for 6 months then remove the record , that's time wasting and bs. They basically do it to free up space in the databases maybe for faster running ingame.

they use this query ... delete from account_tbl where gpoints ='0' and other "awesome" query xDDDDDDD

Their client stores the last time the user has logged into their characters and then
when they want they can delete the ones that logged in only before the last 6 months.

Its a simple query, and they do it to shrink their grotesquely sized DBs and to
promote activity from older players that dont want to lose their characters.

Any characters level 14 and below (Vagrants) that have not been logged into within the past 6 months will be purged.
Any characters level 39 and below that have not been logged into within the last 365 days (1 year) will be purged.
Any characters level 59 and below that have not been logged into within the last 2 years will be purged.
Any characters level 60 and above WILL NOT BE LOST.

60+ chars are safe

I actually lost like 5 characters lol.

Its a simple query.
Basically, its using 'if' statements, for example, it compares the last login time to their level, if their level is not adequate to their login time, that character is deleted... kinda basic.

Gsold is a friend of mine ( portuguese ) also u can know him from his flyff videos on eflyff

he used to make lvl 60 chars in less than 24 hours he just did and i saw him. i know its kinda WTF but its the truth
