    [help] [edited] awakenings

    hello:

    i was messing around with the source and i had added jewelry and masks to the awakening/blessing in randomoptions.cpp. it actually does awaken/bless the items, but the values of the awakes/blessing are not displayed on the item. so there is some place to add these items so that they get the "Awakening Available" text and the values to display after its been awakened/blessed. i have used the search function on VS looking at everything i could think of. i even check propitem.txt and some other files in the server. can someone point me to the file that will do this. not asking for the code that makes it happen, just the file name. im trying to learn.

    24 hour bump. this problem is making me nuts. it seems everything i add to the propitem.txt get this same error.

    the last item it was able to read was defined as 300 in defineItem.h

    you inserted your new items incorrectly some how

    Try inserting at the end of the file I bet you put it near the weapons in the beginning and did so incorrectly just look it over more carefully.

    It could also have something to do with the server files you chose too use which files are you using?

    yeah i ended up figuring it out im sorry for posting. turns out that when i added the scroll of unbinding it has stuff after the desription IDS, which i think is for Spec_Item.txt not propItem.txt so i use deleted the extra stuff.

    Yep, that would cause your problem. You should consider coding your source to read Spec_Item.txt, but just ignore all the extra parameters (read them properly from the file, but don't use them at all). That way you can use a more up to date format and add your modifications to it.

    yeah i would love to do that. but i have no idea how yet. im ganan guess and say that i should search the source for propItem.txt and change all that i see to Spec_Item.txt. then rename my propItem.txt and change it in the resource.txt. but im dont know.

    i got a new question now. if i was to add Kalliun and the desert to my v15 would i have to code the quests in the source to get the new maps to work. or can i just add the maps and monsters to get them to work? and would the npc models for those maps be in the world/WdMadrigal file or some place else?

    You don't have to code any quests at all for those 2 new places (btw, the in-game name is actually Eillun, or at least it is in the english translation). All you need to do is add the monsters to the files. Madrigal, which is basically the entire outside area (non-cave/dungeon), is all 1 world. It has Flaris, Saintmorning, Garden of Rhisis, Darkon (1, 2, and 3), Shaduwar, Valley of the Risen, Eillun (v16), and Bahara Desert (v17). After adding the monsters, you just need to get an updated WdMadrigal folder (Also, don't forget the textures in the World\Texture___ folders).

    what files(server files from some other release) to you recommend to get the updated maps that will work for v15? i had tried using the blessed files to add traseia but for some reason the world/TextureMids was giving me a problem even tho the textures were in there. so i figured id try some other server/client files.

    One more question. with the v15 i have the old map style. would i have to code the new map style to get them working? or is it possible to keep the old maps style and just add those 2 maps to it. i kind of like the old map style. (map style as in when u press M)

    Yeah, I knew what you meant about the Map. I guess it's possible to use the old style. But you'd have to add 2 new buttons on the left of the map screen (resdata.ing/txt.txt) and somehow map them to the correct image files. I've never modified that map system, so I don't know how to do that.

    And no, I don't really know where you could get a reliable map folder. I don't remember where I got my current world folder, but I know I'm not using the blessed one. Not cause I think it's bad, but I already had one that worked just fine.
