At the client/source we have, pierce is just for suits, its made in one of the equips seller of flaris, weapon seller I guess, you use moonstone for this and then a card(like lightning, volcane(something like this), etc.).

To make what is more called upgrade, you use sunstone, double click sunstone and single click a equip(suit, boot, glove, "hat", weapon, shield).

Ahh Bout The Stone??? (e.g diamond??)
The command .item for stones is working, you can get the stone
But If you Try to Put it in your item(e.g bloody sword) it will not work
But Try to get stone from the Mobs at the Volcane And Try To Put It On The Pierced Sword or Whatever
It will Work...I dunno Why it is not working in the .item Command...
