im the ONLY person on my server and i still lag, it takes AGES for npc's to spawn, and monsters, gawd lets not get to that, ive been on sum1 elses server, they had like 50 ppl on,and their npc's loaded faster then mine.

maybe because you dont got PC for make a server?
your PC maybe is using alot of RAM
open you task manager and set your world server to the highest priority. plus give us more of your computer details. like RAM or blah blah...
Pentium 4 CPU chip, like what, 2G ram, 80gb hard rive, yeha i know, i need a beta comp, but i dont think it makes alot of diff, my bros has the BEST dual core out so far, 4g ram, and 640gb hard drive, and his still lags i believe
you really need to do a upgrade to your PC :P
well thats pretty easy !!!!!
the server is to hard for your pc to handle together with the client so...
you should erace most the monsters from the monster_spawn map in navicat
then your server will be light as a feather!
and nobody ever goes to the idk where aibats there are over 300 or 400 aibats in flyff.
what i did is i made the monster_spawns list empty and with a friend i put some of the monsters on the most logical place :)
and there you have the answer and the solution.

Tip: Don't host with wireless connections.
I have 512mb ram and it runs without lag. Its not about your computer. Try closing running programs in the prcoess.. Maybe one of your running apps slows it down.

500mb ram
34 gb HDD
pentium 4 3ghz
(it is not lagg XD)
Channel 2:
250mb ram
31GB HDD
pentium 4 2.1 GHZ
(and iti is not lag XD)

Your lagging because the computer cant handle both the Server and Client running at the same time. It most likely takes up too much CPU usage and therefore you get lag. If your really serious about running a FlyFF Server, I would look into VPS's at www.VPSLand.com
keep in mind that using a US based company can result in your server getting shut down by Aeonsoft Enforcement Squads or whistle-blowers IMO.
I have seen some servers that have not get there server shut down. I figure the only reason they shut down your server is because you are making money off of it some way. Example, Giving rewards for donations and what not. At least, Thats what I see from MapleStory servers. Nexon doesn't bother to go after the people that are not making money off of MapleStory. I mean, You could maybe accept donations as long as you don't give them a reward thats in-game. But of course, Thats only with Nexon. Not sure about AeonSoft or gPotato.
I think aeonsoft dont care much about this, who cares is gala-net, but gala-net cant do much about this, just aeonsoft.(Correct me if Im wrong but aeonsoft made the game and get royalts from gala-net, which receives money from players to pay it and have profit, less cashers, less profit). Im not sure about this ;x
Jagex owner of runescape care much more about its game, even youtube videos showing runescape private servers gets deleted '-'
Well, Like I said, It aways depends if your making some type of income from the private server.
