this is old news like we did this in beta for mmorgs back in 2004 and only works in p servers anymore and even then only if they dont have a backup system in place
for the database...
in short terms what hes saying is u take an item u want duped..
trade between 2 people in trade window and when u hit ok both clients drop it has a 50% chance of duping the item but if a backup server is in effect it wont work because it saves the drop as a log off point in affect preventing such roll backs

Honestly has nothing to do with hacking.
Trading and waiting for the server to crash is idiotic.
Used to do it on the officials back in v6 when they had weekly maint. The way they used to shut down the server for it would cause trades to dupe if you did it right. Also used to do it a lot more often each event, since back then almost every event was guaranteed to cause a crash.
