I just wanted to ask to Mods/Admins, Why you dont make a new Section called "Flyff Guides" Then it will be more organized. Because there are every guides in Release section, and it looks unorganized.

huh, that is a valid point. it would be less cluttered if guides had their own section
thats why we stressed the key tags back when I started as a mod. a new section has been shot down many times. Next time you should ask this in the suggestions board.
if regular mods had that authority Gk, Me, or even dell would have a long time ago.
it's up to Mental and the Super Mods, who tend to lean away from anything not absolutely necessary.
It's a great idea, at least in my eyes.
yeah great idea : P but there is always that handy search button at the top of the site as well...
Having too many subsections may be too messy. We got three, and thats around what most sections have. Personally I would like to see new sections, not exactly a guide section.
It's been shot down so many times, the showoff section for example.
At first the idea of multiple subsections was a good one. However, since there is no active development like there are in the WoW section for example (i.e. MangoWoW, etc.), they can't break it up into subs. Now, I am all for what you suggest such as a Tutorial sub, Guide sub, but the fact is there isn't much to go on with those. There is really only about 6-7 good tutorials, and maybe 7-8 guides of various things. Its not enough to get their own sections.
However. If you can make a REALLY convincing argument with concrete evidence as to why this section would need more subs, then I can somewhat guarantee that they will consider it.
What you should do in the meantime is visit the other sections around RZ and see why they get theirs and maybe it might help in the long run.
well maybe move all the source releases into a section. and all the other shit in another. something like that just throwing it out there
Having a section for 10-15 topics is not that effective. It would be better of having a stickied compilation thread with all the source releases.
@OP, As for the guides, I am not against that idea, but I assume that if I bring this idea to the table, I would get replies like "Why can't they use [Guide] thread tags?" from higher ups
Although if there will be quite a bit of people who are interested in [Guides] section, I can see what I can do about it.
Release verification system and better organized sections is what the FlyFF forum needs.
Use the other forums as an example when talking to the higher-ups.
Completely agree on verification system. Better to prevent than to cure.
Just look at the MU section for example.
All I see are good quality releases and stuff.
Compared to it, this section looks like a trash bin of spam and other bullshit.
You tell the truth Spiken. It's really never going to happen unless you can REALLY convince them that new subs are a necessity to this section. Otherwise, they'll say use Tags when searching.
I can think of a structure suit fit off the top of my head:
Of course, this needs a lot of work but I just wrote it up in less than a minute.Code:- FlyFF Development General development. (emulators, sources, webpages, etc.) - - Showoff Non-release developments. (websites, features, etc.) - FlyFF Releases - Uses release verification. Releases: Full Sources, Resources, PHP(Useful, not stupid stuff like reg scripts). NO RE-RELEASES - FlyFF Guides General FlyFF guides about resource, web-pages and setting up a server. - - Source Edits ONLY PLACE for simple edits such as bug-fixes etc.
- = Section
- - = Subsection
Flyff Tutorials - Flyff - RaGEZONE forums
Where would we get a VS from? The only thing I can think that would work as a VS would be to have threads be put in moderation queue so that moderators have to approve threads.
The only section that does this is the habbo section I believe.
