$50 is not that bad considering that all other components of 3d programs are over $100 sometimes. One program was over $200 and all it did was convert a proprietary format to 3dsMax.
There are other ways of course to acquire the program if you think its too much.
the cflyff's scripts used luac(complied lua),
just LUAQ->VOQ
