LND Parser and Possible World Editor

So I have sitting around in between my projects and worked on a little program that parses LND files in to text files so you have a better understanding of them. I plan on using this format to create my own world editor similar to xadet's and Beast. If however, xadet releases his editor first I may not give mine out to everyone. This one will be closed source because I don't need every Johann, Sebastian, and Bach getting their hands on it and claiming it for themselves.

So to show I am not full of it, here is an early pic showing the parsing form. The editor itself is not built yet so you won't see it for a while.

I am also in the works to release a custom map for Project Glaphan entitled Glaphan Mountain. A giant sized mountain with a winding path all the way to the top where I live. There will be custom NPCs and a few newer mobs to fight on this map ONLY. Plus there will be a new town and possible new quest for the map as well as a custom blinkwing. I'm putting my skills to work and I think its time ragezone put out a few maps itself.

    Time will tell.

I just wonder how you're able to work on projects like this one, as much I know, you're father of two children, correct me if I am wrong. I really admire and respect you, you're the king :P
However, seems to be another awesome work you did, keep it up, good luck with it!

You raise a valid point. Having a family and the time it takes to code something is a challenge. Personally coding is very easy for me so I can whip up a program quickly if needed. You should see my projects folder. I have a dozen or so of unfinished projects or works in progress.

I have an awesome wife who supports me in my endevours so I break up the coding. As soon as I hit the keyboard sometimes hours fly by. Before I know it, I coded an entire program in hours. I guess its a gift. I am trying to breal into the gaming business and with the help of coding a server and playing with XNA, its making life a lot easier.

THanks for the support people. It's nice to know I get some respect, unlike Mr. Dangerfield. :D

Well the project is a two step process. The first part you open the world file and parse the LND files you want or all of them into a text style file that will be able to be read by the Editor when its complete. Right now I am fine tuning the parser because I got some stream errors and things. minor fixes. I'm also adding a Parse all LND files button as well.

Even if I release the parser, at least you will be able see whats going on inside the files. Very soon I will start on the editor so we can hopefully crank out some maps and such. But that is a long way off.
