information Need a better understanding on some things.

Okay, Can someone give me a better understanding, I have looked, searched for different guides. I would love to get a better understanding on how to use scripts, since I guess I need a webpage to set up a patcher lol. Plus I need a better understanding of wampserver 2, Like they say do this, do that, but seriously? no exsplinations, I am so lost on how to attach my Hamachi to it.

Well, Before we go into answering all your questions. I would suggest you don't go with Hamachi and just forward your ports. It will increase your player count quite a bit. People also tend to say that Hamachi poses a security threat, but I haven't found any proof of that yet.

Re: Need a better understanding on some things.

Well currently I am not worried about how many people can connect, because it's only open to four freinds right now, so that's 5 of us total, I have a while untill its ready for the public, that's why for now I am using hamachi, plus at&t internet does fail, can you answer the question of, when I put everything into the www directory into wampserver 2, what address do I use for the patcher? this one? c:\wamp\www\RESCLIENT\neruspace\+name of flyff folder? and if so, that would be my biggest issue, of not knowing what to put things at.

---------- Post added at 03:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:17 AM ----------

Let me rephrase that directory to , http://localhost/RESCLIENT/Neurspace/Flyff/

Lol I have a linksys I'm shore I could, but that would mean screwin with stuff, and dealing with my ISP, and they clearly plainly suck. I need to know how to use wamp though, since nobody in those guides say much about it just put it here, now put this inside of there, and then change this to that, and they never exsplain what how or how to get "this" in the first place.

Re: Need a better understanding on some things.

The correct directory would be http://localhost/RESCLIENT/Neurspace/

    And, To use WAMP:

When WAMP is Open and what not, You will see that icon in your system tray.

If the icon on your system tray is Red or Yellow, That means one of the services isn't started. So, Left click on the icon and click, 'Start All Services'. It can take a few seconds for the icon to turn white. When it does, It means its ready to be put online.

Now, When the icon is all white and has what looks like a 'Lock' on the icon, That means the services are started but it hasn't been put online yet. So, To put it online you just left click on the icon and click, 'Put Online'.

Delete all the files in the www folder, then put your launcher folders in it. And when people type your Hamachi IP in there browser, They should be able to see the Directory.

Instead of using your IP, You put the IP that Hamachi gave you into the patcher.

Well, I have installed hamachi to play some games online with my friends. I made a website, (for flyff) everything is working, and I can access it if I use my hamachi IP, how can I change it to my ip? :o

You can always port forward, it is just that on some routers its harder then others. Like mine. I bet i can make it, but i`l have to screw with things as GreenRibbon said. I got linksys aswell.

If you like to create a webpage etc, and script. you need to learn coding language`s etc.

Ps: Everytime my internet falls, my ip changes. o-o

I'm not good on this things xD

Yea that's pretty much my understanding, port forward port 80, and blah blah blah, to be honest I don't think my computer could handle hosting its own webpage ontop of my server... Internets already split in 3, my comp, mothers comp, my 360 lol.

Yeah, I can imagine you having some lag issues already because of the bandwidth FlyFF uses.

Yea I am so glade my comp is Finaly a dual core, and has 2 gigs ram, I would be totaly screwed if I wasnt a computer techy freak, because my comp came with Windows Vista, and I was like hell no! Lol and went with XP PRO SP3, I probably wont go for seven at all to behonest ither, To much ram just to run the OS ._., I surprisingly don't get lag in game unless we spawn to many of something, but my computer gets bogged down real bad when just opening or closing the server, like really bad, almost uses all my ram resources. :S

Not talking about Computer lag, But network lag. If your current internet line is being used by three things, and you are then also going to host a FlyFF server, Your internet could start slowing down at a significant rate if too many people join your server if you plan to go public.

When you have a issue like that, You have to set up whats called a 'Static IP'. The IP you currently have is a Dynamic IP.

Here is a guide on how to do so.

    @FtwHoly

Correct, you have to port forward port 80. Go to PortForward.com - Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model for more information about port forwarding thought.
