    New Skill System + Other Ideas

    Got a little question for you?

    Do you really like the post v6 skill system?

    Do you really like/liked pre v7 skill system?

    What kind of skill system would you like to see if it could be redone?

    I have been sitting on 2 ideas for an entire new system for the skills.

    One is more or less the way the old final fantasy 1 did it. You buy them! So if you don't want to wait until 65 to get your fav AOE skill, just pay the man and outfit yourself accordingly.

    The other is inspired by Final Fantasy 7. Skills receive experience every time you use them. Each skill has 3-5 levels depending on the type of skill. Come to think of it, that was what the old system was anyway in so many words. However, I would make it much more difficult to level up the skills.

    For example, if you were an RM and you started healing yourself over and over, it really wouldn't count. For this reason, FS and RMs would be a valuable commodity because the skill could ONLY level up in a party.

    I think too many people try and go solo because its not hard to level anymore on private servers. when you set the xp so high, anyone could level so fast that the game is populated by too many H's and M's. Personally, I think the actual Hero and Master system should be way much harder to accomplish than just running a volcane gauntlet, rebirthing yourself and doing it all over again.

    I think when you reach the max level, or Level 120 for example, you should find the start of the quest. I think there should be a massive chain quest to get that title including starting back at level with exp being doubled (tripled for hero).

    Furthermore, I think there should be more party friendly activities.

    anyone play WoW?

    I like the 4 on 4 melee battles. Like a guild war but its a party. just people beating the hell out of each other for 20 minutes or until people get board.

    There is even a capture the flag, or as I would call it, Capture the Aibatt.

    Base wars where you have to defend parts of your base from the other team.



    I have many ideas because I think the game has reached its peak as far as official releases go.

    Perhaps if some of these are implemented then more and more people will come to private servers and Aeonsoft will only be pissed off that we changed the source instead of cloning the server.

    I'm a huge fan of the skill spamming. But maybe a skill merchant where you could buy/buy upgrades for skills.

    It's been forever since I've played Final Fantasy VII, but I think I know what you mean. The v6 skill system was nice, but it should be harder to level them like you said. Private servers are way too easy.

    It would be nice to see the game develop a new, much more interesting plot (clowns are boring). The party war idea sounds like fun.

    Instead of the current system, there should be a really long chain quest in order to convert an item to ultimate. There should be an even harder one to make it an ultimate +10.

    The party exp could also be redone so there's more of a benefit in forming a party. The way it is now, you can pretty much solo by yourself and it's more of a penalty to you to work with someone if you can avoid it. It should be the other way around, but not to where the monsters are too overpowered.

    It would also be pretty cool if the game was fixed so that you could fight monsters in the cities, but not be able to PK. Maybe have it set so that a guild could complete a chain quest which causes a city to be invaded by monsters or something.

    It would be nice if there were more classes. The same 8 choices get boring after a while. Maybe do something like a class and then a subclass specialization or something. For example, a knight can complete a really hard chain quest to become either a defender (focuses on defense) or a warrior (focuses on strength and attack speed).

    That's all I could think of.....for now.

    v16 pretty much xD?
    anyways I support a new skill system but not based on leveling. I personally like questing and I think it would be awesome if we could have a system where you need to do quests to get your skills. and you can level them by leveling like it is atm. Lazy noobs will be lazy noobs, but evryone likes a lil questing :P

    Kinda like Ragnarock Online .

    You level up to get some of your skills and then you do quest for some other skills. maybe skills that need certain materials to use ?

    Story quests that rewards you with a new skill (passive/offensive) sounds cool if you ask me.

    Oooh.. seems good, but there will be the problem of 'in-balaning' It's more so if you have a merchant

    The more money > the more powerful.

    So I think the idea of questing for them is pretty good =o..

    Maybe something like RAN Online + v6 FlyFF skill system would be great. The not-so-good skills you can buy from NPC's and those signature skills be acquired from skill spamming

    IF you reach certain level, you gotta buy/find a skill book.
    And that v6 skill training system, like you gotta use skill to gain exp .

    I suggest bringing party duels back too, but like, when a player clicks on party duel, they have a "little" siege! lol like they get teleported to a map and "siege" 8vs8 or something like that.

    ---------

    - Make inventory have more slots.

    - Everyone should spawn with all the skills at lvl 1, then with quests they will increase, that way everyone can max their skills,not only those who are rich!

    - Increase guild member size to infinite maybe, like wow

    - Increase party size to 16 or higher

    :P Im in for the v6 skill system but then make a limit like
    For mental strike till 20 you be level 15(possable with skill points too so)
    For the 2nd skill when your level l8 it be limited to level 10 each level you be able to train 2 more skill levels or even 3 ? xD so it be harder to train

    I would make it very interesting for people to get certain skills. For example.

    In Final Fantasy 7, there was a summon spell called Knights of the Round. It was clearly the highest known summon spell (next to One Winged Angel's Ultimate Attack). Everyone wanted it, but no one could ever get it and here is why.

    Near the middle-end of the game you get the Highwind airship. If you look on a map, you'll see a tiny ass island in the upper right corner (its been awhile so it may be elsewhere). You can't fly there, or walk there. What you need to do is raise a golden chocobo. you do that by getting a regular one and raising it's level to S class. Once you do that you need to get a black chocobo and do the same. mate the two together and if lucky you get a golden chocobo so you can walk on the water to get to the island.

    Its more involved like racing to level up and whatnot but you get the idea. Its hard as hell to get the summon and when you do its a big payoff.

    the same goes for ultimate weapons. come one people. I thought bloody weapons were enough, but now there is Skeleton, Crystal, and Lusaka?

    How about getting the weapons the 8 heroes had or their armor? make it soul-linked so no one else can have it. And none of that CS item mall shit either. You will work for it.

    btw, I played FF7 religiously when it came out and still play it to this day. Vincent was my guy to use in the game. I mean who wouldn't want a guy who uses shotguns and morphs into a demon? I may have fudged some details so you youngins need not correct me. You get the idea so that's that. lol!

    I myself like a hack and slash game like Darksiders pressing buttons to attack and use skills while attacking and making attack combo's xD
    Or like Kingdom hearts. Final fantasy has nice skill things but its mostly attack wait... get attacked...wait ... attack I like that too lol(Pokemon uses it also) :P

    Anyway a Complete new attacking system would be awsome and if you get the hack and slash in flyff then yea O.O it be the first real awsome online hack and slash game that is 3D! i think xD

    I will try to make that hack and slash part a little :S going to be hard xD
    :D Trial and Error makes you learn a lot :P

    This is a very good idea, although there might be some issues.

    It's going to change the FlyFF Experience, so if you plan on making a pServer, they might not like it. Remember that v6-v7 isn't the same flyff we know today. Most people only know flyff from v13.

    Plus people with big pockets can just go in there and max all his skills at lvl 15?

    Although I like the idea alot. Goodluck with it!
