Because people will never get the fine line between legal and illegal. For example. I have a set of programs I'm going to release to the public.

They are copyrighted by my company and are freely available for use. However, if they get hacked and changed I have the legal right to sue the person or persons involved.

If I let people release Beast we, the staff, will be put in a difficult situation to where either we delete the files or we get a lawsuit thereby ruining RZs repuatation.

Now I don't want to hear all this crap saying it happened before, blah, blah, blibbity blah. That was not flyff and therefore irrelevant in this situation.

Until a higher up comes here or contacts me with their decision, it stands.

Now I'm wondering if the Mica I saw the other day is the same Mica on this forums. Either way it was a good conversation. Until reading this I never new he had such things, but opening something before it's ready always ruins the surpise, and it's never as good. Beast is a COPYRIGHTED and PATENTED program used solely by Aeonsoft.

Just like with Caali's...you were pissed...not that they were not safe...but becuase you "respect" Caali....then I fought to bring back Rev 1...it was brought back.....you stayed in the shadows for a while but soon enough found a way to get rid of it....not for the community...but for your own desires...whatever they may be.

As stated before.....you yourself are creating a server using files that are not intented for packet sniffing and the such.....the client files are owned and created by Aeonsoft and Galanet....using them to connect to any server other than Galanet and Aoensoft servers is ILLEGAL.....

As said before..if you want to express rules...express for all files...not just the ones you deem unworthy....IE: No GG nuez.exe...thats a hacked and illegal program...get rid of it.....or deem yourself a hypocrite....

About more than 80% of the people around here support this and the leecher community wants it so they can flood the internet with half assed maps that aren't worth a dime bag.

Monolith you are truly an idiot.

1. You only come here to flame people, mainly Glaphan, when things such as this arise. You never post any other time.

2. Glaphan did not outlaw Caali's files by himself. Both times polls were made and COMMUNITY chose to get rid of them. Whoever started the first poll, and then me the second poll. I did not start to poll because I am friends with Glaphan, he didn't make me do anything. Hell I don't have him on msn, and barely talk to him directly here on Ragezone at all. I simply shared the same views, and so did everyone else that posted in that thread I made. They were banned out of respect for Caali, for not being able to dev them ( as this is a dev site ), for them being riddled with exploitable features, and potential trojans or w.e it was in 2/3+.

3. If Glaphan want's to do "illegal" stuff within the confines of his own house, then he is free to. But when it comes to this sites well being, then the questionable files will not be allowed. Why push the matter? You yourself already agree that something will be done. You said yourself Gala will send a C&D. Why even bother continuing? Those files WILL be outlawed from here sooner or later whether it's for the better now, or when they're forced. They CAN do much more than a C&D as just sending a C&D would be the nicer way to go about it.

4. If the official files get released here then you can bet Ragezone will be hurting. It will NOT make it better. It will not get us better files. It WILL tear apart the community.

The normal rules of real life do not apply here. On this website you follow their rules, and on the internet in general you follow their rules. You do not have any rights here. And it is against the rules to call anyone out on anything as that would constitute as a personal attack against that person.

Private servers do not take away money from Gala-Net. They are made from scratch. They are buggy, mostly incomplete, and don't last long.

Beast and Fames files cost money. You want them? You have to go pay Aeonsoft or whoever has the rights to it, to get it. If Fame released their files and beast, you are taking money from Aeonsoft. Simple as that.

No they are not. The server files made, are not made by the respected companies. They are not copyrighted to any one company or individual.

Private servers ARE legal. Most just aren't legal to host. Although some are now, such as WoW.

None of the tools made for them are copyrighted either. They are made by people here, and other development sites.

In case you haven't guessed, this forum is a lot better off without caali servers and anything else related to them. Did you not look at the poll created by a user and it ran its course only to go in the favor of banning them. I even ran it by the higher mods before carrying it out. Fail.

OK, see this is the gray area. I do not reproduce, modify or do anything illegal with the client files. The only thing I change is the ip address the client connects to. I don't provide anything else other than the v6 client files and my hand made source partly made from kiki. So therefore, I do not break any rules other than not making the client connect to the server. Why else would they have a line there that says ip= "" if they had no intentions of using it otherwise. I've been in the business and I know how it works. Fail again.

Its related to caali files and my source doesn't use it and neither does any one else's other than caali servers. You don't have to download it. So ignore it. Fail again.

When are you ever going to actually read something instead of assuming. The reason the server files were banned were because of the negative impact on the community. It was hurting it rather than helping it.

No.. again you don't listen and read. Beast and Fame's files are Aeonsofts programs. Both of which are copyrighted and illegal to possess. The client files are copyrighted and allowed to be freely distributed. Since there is no modifying of any kind other than changing a parameter in the config file. they don't care. What they do care about is if you make money off selling items for real cash. That's grounds for lawsuit and they will shut you down, their own way.

Sorry, I don't ban every single release out there like you think I do. People want to release maps using xadet3's program, fine. great. But I can tell you that no one around here is dumb enough to have beast let alone use it, and smart enough to actually make a map with it. It's more work than its worth. Someone released a map here and a lot of people that it was dumb and the person took those comments and redid it. People release things here all the time thats custom. I let them do it because its not against the rules and 9/10 times I sort of like them myself.

Nope. Sorry. I can't speak for the rest of the sections, just here. Warez = Beast. Warez = Fame's server files. Warez = ban. No you do not have the right to discuss it because it condones piracy. Its media as its software and therefore falls into the warez category. Everyone around here knows all about the happenings with these files. My Inbox was flooded with reports about the Beast links. So there are a lot of people and thats just about all of them, who stand by the decision. You really think its going to get reversed? Give it your best shot.

So with that children. I leave you with this. Stop flaming and trolling and get back to learning a developing and playing like we intend you to do.
