    Running Server on Windows Server 2003 doesn't work.

    THIS IS THE LAST THING I TRIED:

    Okay, so now, I just did this guide:
    http://forum.ragezone.com/f457/v15-d...upport-666481/
    on my Windows 7 PC, and it worked, and started perfect.

    Then I did the exact same thing on the Windows Server 2003 (32BIT) VPS and it didn't work.

    I'm 100% sure its not the DB now, because I restored them from the BAKs in the Repack successful, just like on my Windows 7 PC.

    I only changed the IPs in the config (put 127.0.0.1 everywhere).

    Running the AccountServer works fine, then I go to my Resource folder, run DataBase server and it just doesn't show up. On my process list it shows up for one second, and then disappears, AND I GET NO ERROR(.txt)!?!

    Would it be my OS ? Would it be my specs ?

    System Specs:
    Code:
    System: Microsoft Windows Server 2003
        Enterprise Edition
        Service Pack 1

    Registered to:
        user
        office
        some kind of random key :D

    Computer:
        Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU
        Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
        2.39 GHz, 512 MB of RAM
    How can I fix this
    It'd be a waste of money if I can't get the normal files (clean) on this server.

    Please help me

    Old Post:
    I'm using Windows Server 2003.
    I've got these databases:

    ACCOUNT_DBF -> .bak from Dell Honne's guide
    CHARACTER_01_DBF -> .bak from Dell Honne's guide
    ITEM_DBF -> from .sql file (Dell Honne's Guide)
    LOGGING_01_DBF -> .bak from Dell Honne's guide
    MANAGE_DBF -> .bak from Dell Honne's guide
    RANKING_DBF -> .bak from Dell Honne's guide

    I put 127.0.0.1 on all IP places.
    I tried putting my DB password, and tried not putting it.
    And I get no error.txt

    When I use the same files on my (x64) Windows 7 PC
    (same .bak files) it does work.
    ODBC is set up like this:

    login : ACCOUNT_DBF
    log01 : LOGGING_01_DBF
    character01 : CHARACTER_01_DBF
    manage : MANAGE_DBF
    ranking: RANKING_DBF

    I really am clueless. I hope someone can help me with this. I'm 99% sure the problem is not in the files, because I've also tried it with the clean files from Dell Honne's repack. I'm using some custom files.

    Thanks in Advance

    LOL, Totally forgot about that: The database server doesn't want to start, leaving no error.

    Re: Database Server

    I've compiled the Database server from the Source code, but I got this error:

    Code:
    C:\Users\Ralf\Desktop\Source\OFFI V15 SOURCE\_Common\GuildHouse.cpp(1928): error C2065: 'GUILDHOUSE_TENDER_END' : undeclared identifier
    So I removed this:

    GuildHouseDBMng->PostRequest( GUILDHOUSE_TENDER_END, lpBuf, nBufSize );

    And then it compiled successfully. But sadly the database server didn't work on the VPS.

    I really don't know what the problem is and it irritates me

    My VPS is 2003, although mine is 64-bit. Works fine.

    Maybe you downloaded the 64bit or the VPS user does not have the rights to run it. Check everything twice before you start the SQL.

    Re: Running Server on Windows Server 2003 doesn't work.

    Yah, I'm upgrading to Windows Server 2008 64-bit now.
    And I think I have full rights.
    I'm 100% sure I downloaded the 32-bit version, because the 64bit version won't even install

    I'll let you know if it works with Windows Server 2008 64bit.

    Re: Running Server on Windows Server 2003 doesn't work.

    It depends on the Windows conf. It may install the 64bit but it wont work.
    Thats the problem. But ye 2008 will work fine. I am running under 2008 R2 64bit. And every sql works just fine for me.
    2003 is outaged. :)
    Be sure to install it from Features!
