Whoa, that looks really nice.
Simple, but nice.
That's the kind of stuff I personally like. As for files, I'm not too sure how this whole file situation is going to end up.

wow the desing you have alot of talent
Personally, it would be easier if you left it attuned to OsA for now, it's easy enough to change a website to a different database of a different emulator. Unless I'm mistaken (Which I most likely am >.<), most of the current emulators run on MySQL instead of MsSQL, in which case, changing the website would only detail modifying configuration files to conform to the database of the emulator.
Just wondering by the way, does your website include sessions and cookies? If so, it might be nice to have to have a few different CSS styles that changed the overall color of the website. Like it's got cool colors (Cool as in the art term), and a user could login which starts a session and adds cookies to his/her browser and then they could either press a button within an array or an option from a drop-down menu which would change the CSS file of the page to conform to the user's option. I'm sorry if that's not very clear and if it confuses you, I can provide examples of it in both an array of buttons and a drop-down menu. Since I'm not the best at any particular coding whatsoever, I haven't the faintest clue as to how one would go about creating it, so you're on your own there.
Good for you? I know for a fact that it's hard for people to refrain from bragging, posting irrelevant comments, and imposing a blatant disregard of the skills, if you may, of the people he/she may talk to. As of such, thank you for sharing and perhaps you could contribute to this project once heartbeat releases it open source, however, it would certainly be nice if you could post useful items, such as offering to help, or suggestions, or just plain flattery which is almost never ill received.
Owch, well said, without flaming in that as well.
Anyhow, I think mootie was trying to say (In his own special way), that it wouldn't be dificult for heart to convert it for mssql and mysql databases.
Of course, it would've been nice if it had been worded differently. But that's just my opinion.
I think all emulators(rune, morpheus, osA and rhisis) work on a similar way(mysql, one database, one table for account with a field for name, another for pass using a salt for md5, and so on). Basing on that, I think it wouldnt be a big problem to make it with a config file where you choose table and field names, even the md5 salt.
Creating your own sql class, would probably make it possible to have one class for mysql and another for mssql, with same functions name. So to make it work for officials would need to check how is the db structure, but I think its possible.
(Maybe at the db class create function named register and depending on the class(mysql or mssql) it makes on one way)
So I think its possible to make it work for every file :P
The point of the post was, do not discourage use of different databases, especially when you do not know what you are talking about. I didn't mean to brag, only explain that it is not hard to code in PHP, nor is it hard to switch a few queries around to make it compatible with mssql.
following the easy way, a switch function could easy cover this aspect. We'd only need a variable to be changed (for example $ServerType = RuneFlyff (or Osa, Or official, etc)) in order to run it and simply do the switch function. (switch($serverType) { case RuneFlyff: declare functions here break; }) could be done.. I've used multiple variables while making a multi-support website, which kinda slows down the processes, but I'm always looking for faster and simple ways of working around my files.
@OP PHP's simple, you just need to get the hang of it.. I myself suck at designing, totally. I'm looking further on this aspect in order to improve myself.
WebDesigning/Developing is fascinating :p

Soo... "which server files are most used"? or "which server files do YOU want it created for"?
:sneaky2: I'm high....
i would like to keep you guys updated so... due to reasons in my personal life e.g. school+life+work i couldn't make a start on the template until today.
This is what i've done so far in the past 10 minutes:
1) placed guidelines so i can easily slice up my images:
http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/7356/92707549.jpg
2) created a basic layout of how it's will be coded like:
http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/7798/42327164.jpg
since this is a project to help me improve, i would like to know opinions and
things which to improve upon or how to do it more efficiently as i have always planned it
out like this before slicing and coding the website hence i don't know if there's any other way of doing it x]
i think the most used files now are Offical v11 fame files as i see on forums cuz as soon as somone posted them CALLI became the past and there are a few people that use emulators of sevral projects here :D....but i can surly say for the past month or so...the most used are offical v11 fame files :)
p.s:AWSOME DESIGN!!! omg your talanted :D
haii sir.
Nice layout, but I still think you've used it before x]
play flyff~ :D

what's done so far,
basically all thats left is to style teh navigation and the latest news
and it's ready for php intergration.
i've got 2 exams tomorrow but i'll try complete the css for Matrex today.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
css/xhtml styling/coing was complete as of yesterday but i have not been able to get ahold of MatreX.
For further information on the features and php programming, you can consult Matrex btw.
Plain xHtml/Css version will also be released when MatreX finishes the php, so different server users can implement their own database compatibility structure.
