I've notice how people were getting so excited over the source being leaked but in all honesty what do you all even expect to accomplish with it

There was already a discussion about this, wasn't there? The discussion Dell made?
I got alot of projects spinning I've been working with for a month now.
New jobs, v16 binaries, remove the map cap, maybe a packet filter on the neuz for client sided injections, and then later on .res encryption when i take c++ lessons and with my new coder...
This section need a jump start in the 'open source' area again. Too many 'devs' got pissy when people took an interest to their projects and made it closed source. I mean really, you have to expect for something like that to happen and you can't just get mad and ruin it for everyone because one person got on your bad side.
You cannot make this formula work, it will collapse due to one of many possibilities. Having a big pserver makes 20-30k a month. Open Source game development doesn't work for MMOs because of this. I'd be happy to do an OS project if there were any decent devs that worked for free(none). Ragezone's flyff section is fucked for good now. The victory is ours :>.

I say people can finally see what it takes to develop a server. I have yet to check it out, and quite honestly I'm both disappointed and relieved at the same time.
Relieved that everyone can shut up about how to develop servers, etc. But that will never happen.
Disappointed in the fact that a source is out there and every noob in their basement will start making terrible servers, again.
However, this will give me an excuse to come back to flyff. I've been sitting on an idea from the beginning anyway, so maybe this will be a good thing.
and before anyone asks, I had to kill off myself for a while but, like the phoenix, I have returned. Not as a moderator, but as one of you. simple. leave it at that.
OK. downloaded and unpacked. Looked it over. Shocked!
If I'm not mistaken, the code for the Neuz.exe file is there in plain site. This gives me an idea.
Since this is written in DX mostly, I may be able to rewrite the code entirely to make an entire new game based on it.
So if what I see is true, you may be able to play flyff offline on the xbox 360, perhaps.
right now I'm looking over the code for importing the models and textures.
See you later maybe with some results of my labor.
btw, Shinija, love the sig. makes me laugh every time.
welcome back glaphan, and yeah... I cant agree more on the releived and disappointed part
Why do I feel like it's my fault the stuff got released.
like geez, starting to feel uncomfortable now.
there is nothing wrong with that.
all I was saying is its great we can see inside our favorite mmo game. however, we will start seeing a billion threads and pms asking how to complile, how to decipher, and how to set this up.
It comes with the territory. I just hope people are a little more sophisticated than before.
OSNAP, It's GlaphenKing...
Don't worry Glaphen. I've gotten like 4 infractions D:.
Welcome back. ;D
