    Some few Questions

Hi to all members of Ragezone's FlyFF Community.

It's been long since I last touch FlyFF. I would like to be part of FlyFF community again. I am planning on learning the FlyFF in and out. So I would like to ask a few questions to help me get started.

I want to make a pFlyFF Server, but I don't want to be called a leecher, so I thought this is the best approach to do so.

I downloaded the Blessed Infinitum Source and Server Files, I also downloaded a v15 file from here http://forum.ragezone.com/f457/v15-d...1/#post5687736 .

What I am doing now is to compare this two, to see what's the difference and what's added and/or removed from the two.

    But my questions are:
1.) Which of the two should I start with? Hopefully with much lesser bugs.
2.) What are the things needed to be done to get updated? Example from v15 > 16, what should I do? and from v16 > v17... and so on...
3.) I know a few C++ but I guess I still have to learn more C++ to be able to learn to develop FlyFF. What do you think I should learn?
4.) I wanted to be up to date to v18 or v19 with either of the 2 Files mentioned above, so what are the thing I should add to attain v18/v19 or at least have the important feature from the latest versions?
5.) I know that adding new things from the newer versions like v18,v17,v16 to a v15 Files are done in the source and resource. So I want to know how to update the client as well.

I know my questions are a bit Nooby or maybe it really is Nooby. But I am working my ways to learn again.

I know my questions are a bit Nooby or maybe it really is Nooby. But I am working my ways to learn again.

1.) Start with witch ever you want, i would start with the one with more bugs so you can learn how to debug the files and make your own and learn when there is an error, how to fix them.

2.) try to play a top flyff private server and see what they have up to date and try to add to your source and to your resource files.

3.) C++/HTML/SQL/ that's about all you need unless you want to do other things like make your own antihack, security programs, e.t.c, but to start and learn for now you just need that.

4.) Again, set up your server first, get rid of all the bugs, and play a top private server to see what thay have added and what your files are missing from the new up to date flyff servers.
Tip: you can also play Eflyff and try to update your files to what Eflyff has, but Eflyff sux atm.
    so it would be boring.

5.) Once you add things to the source you then have to add then to your resource files too and to your .Res files and then to your client and patcher. You need to walk before you can run. Try to setup your server and debug your files, then once your ready for the source just ask someone, I would be glad to help.

    Re: Some few Questions

    I have a new Questions.

    1. I have been searching the release section but I couldn't find how to add the 3rd Job with fully working skills. Could you redirect me to it?
I am also currently browsing the server files from Blessed Infinitum source and server files for differences. Maybe I could find out where I could add the 3rd job and skills.
    2. Is there an explanation of what each and every database and its table serves? so if ever I messed with the database, I will know where to go to edit some things or to see if some functions are working completely. :)
    3. What should I do to completely wipe all the data from the database? like accounts, characters, items, inventory, storage and all other that should be wipe to start a very clean database and server.
    4. I can't seem to compile the source with visual c++ 2010. what do I need to compile the source? <- I found the thread related to this question... :)

    Re: Some few Questions

    1. There are some files already with the third jobs in the release section, just search for them and you will find some.

    1. yes, you know the basics of C++ so just find the defined third jobs and add them to any of your own files.

    2. There are also some guides on each part of the database, too much details to explain properly, but try the following

    3. Just wipe everything and start fresh from scratch, once you start to play with some of your friends and when you start to add accounts and data to the database, then you will see what each part of the database does.

I can explain to you everything in detail but it would be spoon fed, and you will learn nothing, so i will just help you with valuable input and help you with your questions, and once you are ready for the next step then we can move on, you will learn better this way. just keep doing what your doing, you will eventually get there.

All these things take time, just be patient don't rush yourself and you will have success. before you know it, you will have your own custom files with awesome features and custom items. then you have to worry about security and all that stuff.

    Re: Some few Questions

I just browsed eFlyFF version History. And from there I will start adding things to my v15 files from v16 first.. then moving slowly to v18 or v19 if possible.. :)

I am looking for a VS C++ 2003 Prof at the moment... and I cant seem to find one... I cant compile the source without one... I only have visual c++ 2010 here and it may complicate the codes... if you have a torrent link of visual c++, could you please PM it to me?

    Re: Some few Questions

If you can't install VS 2003, then I think you simply need to reinstall your Windows 7. I've got Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (not much different than the Pro version) and it runs perfectly fine on my computer.

    Re: Some few Questions

When I try to install the VS2003, I can't get past the Prerequisite installation.
At first try. I skipped the IIS and Front Page Extension requirement then installation failed.
Tried to enable IIS but I cant seem to find the Front Page Extension, and so installation failed then again.
If you are sure I can install VS2003 on Windows 7 x64 then I will go and reformat my PC to a fresh installation of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

    Re: Some few Questions

I didn't have either of those Prerequisites and didn't have a problem installing it.
