To update, or not to update?

Well right now I have a v14 server setup, and so far we've been telling our testers to update completely then apply the patch.

As it turns out, this causes quite a bit of problems. First of all it renders all assist skills besides heal completely unusable. Second it makes it so Neuz stays open as a process after you quit it. And third it causes some GM commands to not work (/aroundkill, /ritem, /ra).

So I do a fresh install of the v14 client and don't update, and to my surprise it fixes everything.

So I have a couple questions:
    1. If you're on v14, what client are you using (beta, non patched, full patched)?
    2. Does anyone know the differences between v14 non patched and v14 full patched? Like are any items/wings missing?
    3. Anyone have any idea what the cause of this problem is? And any idea why it causes such weird conflicts?

EDIT: Disregard #3, I just realized the problem lies within data.res

I have no idea which file though :\

The issues lie in the Data res files not matching up with the server Resource files. It's not just data.res, it is likely that all three are contributing. I believe that updating files is a worthwhile challenge.

I wouldn't wait for v15 unless you're a professional windows administrator or fluent in asm, creatively hooking functions to fix bugs in the alpha binaries(They'll be the first to be released I believe.)

v15 files are not like v14 in any way. v14 files were designed for a different environment than the new v15 files(Aeonsoft developer files).

Good luck on updating v14, I think that is the best route for most at this time. Update this if you have any more questions.

Well when I said to update I meant like update to the latest patch...

But I figured out that Neuz staying open is caused by defineNeuz.h, but if I replace it with the non patched v14 then people on the latest v14 get a crash.

I think it has to do with the latest v14 files needing those new internal definitions, and it just flat out says "Uhhh...screw this".

I also think it isn't because the server files don't match up with the client files, because if you quit at the login screen then it still stays up (and when you're at the login screen you don't need internet).
