    Weird NPC issue

After doing some updates, lots of NPC's just dissapeared o.O
I haven't changed anything in the npc files.
I already tried to reinstall the backupped files, but they're still gone.
I also tried looking in beast editor, but all the npc's are fine o.O
But ingame lots of them are gone.

    Here's the list:
    Flaris town npcs are working
Middle flaris npcs are gone (dwarpets and stuff)
    Npcs at bangs are working
Saintmorning town npcs are gone (exept for 1)
Rest of the saintmorning npcs (outside town) are working
    Darkon town npcs are gone
    Darkon 3 npcs are gone
    Darkon 1 npcs are working
Shaduwar and Elliun npcs are working

And I didn't touch any of the npc files. Before the update it was working fine.
Does anyone have a clue about what happened? o.O

    Re: Weird NPC issue

Like I said, I tested the the worlds in beast editor, and all the npc's where fine in there o.O
And replacing the RGN and DYO files didn't work either D=

    Hmm what about /rmvnpc?
This command is able to remove npcs forever without deleting them from the world files right?
Someone might have abused this command.
Does anyone know how to get npc's back when they're removed with the command??

Hmm nevermind. Restarting the server didn't work.
    Any ideas? ;-;

That command deletes the npc, but not forever. Once you restart the whole server it will be back.
Oh, and i had a similar problem when i tried to edit the Red Chip Merchant.

    Re: Weird NPC issue

Restarting didn't work for me, and I didn't make any changes to character.inc or any other npc file in my update.
Replacing all the files with backups, even exe files, didn't work either.
What else can I try? D=

    Re: Weird NPC issue

I only added third job codes and skill stuff in the source, that's all.
So what should I look for? :/

    Re: Weird NPC issue

While I don't know exactly what the problem is, I can tell you WHERE it is. I actually had this issue when I updated with kFlyFF's files, and I fixed it by replacing my character.inc with an old backup. That SHOULD fix it for you.

    Re: Weird NPC issue

idk if this is the issue either, but NPCs are actually placed in the game world through .dyo files
these files are in each world folder. so like flaris, darkon, etc. NPCs are in the WdMadrigal.dyo

    Re: Weird NPC issue

My character.inc is the same as before the update when the npc's were working fine.
But well I'll give it a try.

    Re: Weird NPC issue

Did you use Flyff NPC Editor on V17 files?
If you did, then you learned a valuable lesson, don't use the released version of the NPC editor on the V17 files.

I'm not using any NPC editor.
I always use Beast to edit npc's, it's much easier.

And ehm, replacing character.inc didn't work either :/
So I'm running out of options :/

Try this one (you probably think I'm a little nuts, but still, just try it).

    It's all korean o.O
The one I had before (when it was working) was just the normal English one from eFlyff.
But well I tested it, and it didn't work :/
    The NPC's were still gone.
    Even replacing my V15 character.inc didn't work. ;-;

    Re: Weird NPC issue

Then I'm out of ideas. All I know is that when I put in the kFlyFF v18 one, my NPCs all poofed except for the Flaris town ones, and those had their names and options messed up. When I put in the v17 eFlyFF one, it was still like that. When I put in my v15ish one (the one I uploaded), it worked fine... not counting the NPCs that it didn't recognize, but that's inconsequential.

    Re: Weird NPC issue

Well I'm also out of ideas.
I tried adding logs to the .dyo loading function in the source.
And it seems that it's only reading 121 npcs out of 250.
I checked it in my world editor but all 250 npcs were fine o.O
Seems like the server isn' reading the dyo correctly, even though I already tried some other dyo files from eflyff and such.
And I didn't change anything in the dyo loading scripts o.O
    I don't get it.......

    Re: Weird NPC issue

I checked every file in the source, every file in the resource..... every.. damn... file...
And I tried to put in my backups, of all files, 1 by 1....
    Nothing worked X_X
WHat else can I try? :/
