Alternative Languages Server Development

This section is moderated under the RaGEZONE Forum Rules, as well as rules designated for the MapleStory Private Server Section. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning, infraction, and/or ban depending on the severity of the issue at hand. These rules are effective as of Monday, October 18, 2010.

[Discussion] tags or prefixes are not needed, nor should be used, as this is the Discussion section.

Creating a thread

  • Do not recreate a thread. Use the Search function beforehand to see if the topic you wish to discuss has already been posted. You may recreate a thread if the previous thread is older than 6 months.
  • Do not bump an old thread unless you can effectively contribute to the topic at hand. This includes posting a fix to a common error, correcting a mistake the TS (Topic Starter) made, sharing an improved way of doing something, or sharing why something might be flawed with the OP (Original Post).
  • Do not repeatedly bump your own thread. This gives other releases a chance to be visible as well.
  • Always use proper tags when creating a thread. Be sure to check each subsections rules to determine what are valid tags.
  • Do not post a thread that has nothing to do with MapleStory. This includes threads about specific people or servers.
  • Do not post a thread containing advertisements of any kind. The proper place to post these is in MapleStory Servers.
  • Do not post a thread for recruiting members. The proper place to post these is in Team Recruitment.
  • Service threads are no longer allowed. Please feel free to post a guide on how to do what you were planning to do, so that other members have the opportunity to learn. You can however, request the service of other members in the help section with the proper tags.
  • Do not create threads asking if a DMCA, email or letter you received is real or fake. These threads have no place on RaGEZONE. The proper action to take is to contact Lloyd Korn, or any similar lawyer of Nexon and ask them. If it is fake, they will not tell you it's real.
  • General questions about other languages are allowed to be posted here but any private server errors or related problems must be posted in the Alternative Language Help section

Posting in threads

  • Do not troll
  • Do not spam, insult or flame other members. There is a difference between proving a point and flaming someone.
  • Do not make a post with only images, smileys, and/or videos.
  • Do not quote someone and respond with "This", "Win", "Fail", or anything similar. Try to put some thought into your post.
  • Do not make a post only to say "Thanks". There is a
Shawn - Alternative Languages Guidelines (Updated 18/9/2011) - RaGEZONE Forums
button for a reason. You can find it on the bottom right when you place your cursor on a post.
  • Do not necrobump. This means bumping an old thread (1+ month since last post). The only exception to this is if you contribute to the discussion/release/tutorial. If you need help after reading a release/discussion/tutorial, post a thread in the help section, with a link to the thread you were viewing.
  • Do not mini-Mod. If you have an issue with a post/thread, use the
Shawn - Alternative Languages Guidelines (Updated 18/9/2011) - RaGEZONE Forums
(Report) function. It is not your job to tell a Moderator how to do theirs.

This section is for any programming language other than Java. Discussions for this section are for source code related discussion, such as server/code optimization. Do not post discussions about Java related topics in this section. If you would like to discuss Java Source code, please do so in the Java Based (Odin) section. Be sure to check these rules often, as they will change without notice.

- The MapleStory Mod Team -

Effective 4/12/11 - The only tag requirements for the Alternative Languages Discussion section is as such...

  • [language] = language being w/e language the topic pertains to, such as
    • [C#]
    • [C++]
    • [Delphi]
    • [VB]
    • [ASM]
    • PHP:

      [*][LolCode]
      [*][CMS] = Websites
[*][DESIGN] = Images for sites and/or rankings

Pretty simple if you ask me...

Re: Alternative Languages Guidelines (Updated 7/7/2011)

The updated tag system above only applies to the Development, Release and Tutorial sections. Help and Discussion do not require tags, so please don't use them.
