    Re: RaenCMS

    Your verification is shit. It can easily be bypassed with a bot, I'd rather have you set up re-captcha on your CMS, it would be best. I don't see the reason why you added the "Raen_" if only the numbers are needed, rather stupid way to bring out the name of your CMS.

    You might want to check up on other things like the use of AJAX/jQuery/JS in your source.

    Let's point out a flaw in your logic. There is no link to the source code in this thread, so even if he wanted too, he couldn't fix it.

    Looks pretty organized.
    About the mouseover, if a tab is clicked and you move your mouse over it, it takes the same image if it clicked or not.

    Good luck on this project.

    I don't have any jQuery in my source. And what do you mean by check up on it?

    1. Precisely. The purpose of a captcha or HUMAN VERIFICATION is not for decoration or an addition to a list of 'features'. If you wish to setup a captcha/human verification on your website, ensure it 'serves the purpose'. By that I mean it should be complex and something not easily 'parsed' by ROBOTS, since its verifying if the registrant is a HUMAN.

    With that being said, yes, re-captcha is a great recommendation. Why re-create things that already exist may I ask? Its a fantastic captcha library that serves the purpose along with accessibility (the 'audio clips').

    2. On the note of 'AJAX/jQuery/JS', this is improper use of '/'. Firstly, I do believe Krishan has already highlighted the fact he is utilizing ajax on his website, also because its obvious when browsing around his site especially on the registration bits. Also, jQuery is JS (Javascript). Its merely just a Framework / Library like CodeIgniter or Zend for PHP.

    However, since you brought up jQuery, I would like to highlight the fact it is a definetly 'must-use' Javascript framework to be using for "Ajax-ing" websites. I've been working with it for almost 2 years now and have spent a great deal of effort utilizing it on CMSes such as SerenadeCMS (used in AlcoveMS) - it saves so much more time and it is so much more feasible to implement.

    I believe what he meant by "Check up on it", is to do research about it and perhaps implement it instead of utilizing your current tedious and flaw'd coding.
    And yes Krishan, sorry I haven't been online lately to help you out, been quite busy. I'll talk to you soon :)

    Re: RaenCMS

    Thanks Ian, I always like your feedback :) without you I would've never even looked into ajax :( But I'll look into jQuery. I've never actually looked at it, I'll just have to rewrite some of my functions in jQuery after learning some. I'll let you take a look at the source to see if I'm doing it right, but beware it's sort of very messy atm :/

    EDIT: So I added re-captcha, but it's one key per domain. How will this be effective in a CMS?

    Re: RaenCMS

    Just set $privatekey and $publickey vars in the config file

    so like
    Spoiler:

    Code:
    require_once('recaptchalib.php');
    $publickey = "..."; // you got this from the signup page
    echo recaptcha_get_html($publickey);

    require_once('recaptchalib.php');
    $privatekey = "...";
    $resp = recaptcha_check_answer ($privatekey,
                                    $_SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"],
                                    $_POST["recaptcha_challenge_field"],
                                    $_POST["recaptcha_response_field"]);

    if (!$resp->is_valid) {
      die ("The reCAPTCHA wasn't entered correctly. Go back and try it again." .
           "(reCAPTCHA said: " . $resp->error . ")");
    }

    Take the red highlgithed ones and put em in the config file you've made

    Sorry if this is the wrong method, but its how i did it on my site files

    Re: RaenCMS

    Yeah I know that, but I mean like for a public CMS everyone will have to go register because they all have different domains.

    Ian, I invited you to the assembla team as an advisor, you're always free to commit though. Don't make fun of my fail at IE compatibility though :( and I have to template the register properly, I never got around to it yet.

    Re: RaenCMS

    Making a custom theme for the captcha right now, I think re-captcha was a good idea :) It looks better and more professional now. Idk what to put in the corner yet though, probably either a maple logo or something to do with raen.
