VirtualBox limits the Virtual RAM to half of your Host's RAM. If your using a 32 Bit Operating System you can only address 3GB RAM or something like that, even if you have installed 8GB. Use VirtualBox on an 64 Bit Operating System and you can raise the Virtual RAM up to 4GB (in case of 8GB).
ty for info ronny i am running windows 7 64bit and have 8gb ram ill try that cheers again ^^
Hi,
Got a big prob.
I installed a new windows system

Hm thats strange. Try to clear all settings of the VirtualBox. Goto your home directory "C:\Documents & Setinge\USERNAME\" or "C:\Users\USERNAME\" for Windows 7. Delete the .VirtualBox folder (this contains all settings, harddisks,...). After that start VirtualBox and try to import the 3 Files again...
Good Luck

from:
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:0c:29:68:9e:a3", ATTR{dev_id}=="0x0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth0"
to:
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{dev_id}=="0x0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth0"

SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:0c:29:68:9e:a3", ATTR{dev_id}=="0x0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth1"

Hmm I have done all the steps but I can't get the client to connect to the server.
I think (but Im not sure) that the problem is that my comps ip is wrong. Just a thought.
Here are the ifconfig/ipconfig screenshots.
EDIT: And another thing: when I start the client it first tells me that it can't find the update server, then when I start the game anyway it tells me its out of date. Is that correct?
EDIT 2: Problem solved.

open PerfectWorld/patcher/server/updateserver.txt
and change it to:
"patch" "http://192.168.0.50/CPW/"
"patch" "localhost"
"patch" "whatever"
(choose one. I use the first one)
Can you pls give us some more information about whats wrong about ur server?!
What exactly happen if you enter "./start.sh"?
Any error?
Maybe u have the wrong ip type.
If your server is providing ips like 192.168.1.x
you have to change the server ip.
So, pls post a screen of your startup, thx.
Hendrik
i reboted my server to insert a new gshop.data, but after the reboot I can't login.(ingame)
-phpMyAdmin:
-Account Registration:
-Cubi Injection:
and
-iWeb:
are doing all right, but i can't go ingame
How can that be?
I allready changed the gshop.data back to zero.
Does anyone hd this before???

The updateserver.txt file already says the ip address so thats not it.
The startup of what? the server in virtual box? because that runs fine.
I just can't get onto the server from the client log in screen.
EDIT:ok I think I may have solved the problem.
First I switched the updateserver.txt file to the localhost option.
Then I noticed that on my un-updated MY-EN client it saw the server while my fully updated client did not.
I then realized that I was using version 1.2.6 of the client....
/facepalm lol
Im downloading the client (v. 1.3.1) linked in the first post of this thread so I will know if it works in about 2 hours or so.
EDIT 2: Well I downloaded it... twice, and both times it said it was corrupted.
Any ideas?
EDIT 3: GOT IT WORKING. I went back to my version 1.2.6 and found the manual patch up to version 1.3.1 then I repatched with the modded files and it works now.
Incase its wanted the link for the manual patches is http://www.perfectworld.com.my/downloads-patch.asp
Version 1.3.1 is also called version 13 so patch up to that.

dear rooney
i cannot use the IP 192.168.0.49 and mask 255.255.255.0 for my computer, coz at my dorm use the 172.16.0.1 - 172.16.3.255 and mask 255.255.252.0 and my IP is 172.16.3.123, this is use to
cennect to my dorm DOMAIN via LAN. If i use the default IP from your image, i can't open "http:\\192.168.0.50"
and i try to change my real pc IP with 192.168.0.49, the client still not connect, i try to ping from my real PC to 192.168.0.50 it say Reply, but i try ping from vbox to my PC with IP 192.168.0.49, it says destination unreachable.
My Question is:
"How to solve tha problem? and How to change the IP from your image to my IP that using 172.16.xxx.xxx? so I and my friends at dorm can connect to the server to play VIA LAN"
here the picture of my real pc network configuration:
and BTW thanks be4

In Ubuntu change the /etc/network/interface file to the static values (IP, Subnet, Gateway)
Also change the /etc/resolv.conf, add a line search YOURDOMAIN
and change the DNS IP to the DNS in your network
Change all the files for the PWServer to the new static IP. These files contains the IP 192.168.0.50

Anyone knows why I can log into iweb,phpmyadmin,etc...
but can't log into game???
This is what the server sais:
pls help.
thx
Hendrik
hypothesis:
1. You have maybe corrupted your AUTH folder or configuration.
2. maybe the system can't accept a username with the word "root" in it...
3. Your register script is maybe corrupted and he send a bad md5 password into the database when your register a new account.
ok...
1. What does that mean? What do you think is curupted? wich part? How to
fix? NEw files?
2.That can't be, cause I ever used that username before. root:root should
to be all right.
3.I'm not shure if i understand u right, but there is no diff between acc
I had before the err and acc I register right now.
thx Romulan for ur help
Hendrik
Last hypothesis is possible... so
I suggest you to use the AUTH folder of my release.... somewhere on the forum lol.. and delete all files and sub-folders of your actual AUTH folder.
And fix every path to your new java version (i mean jdk1.6 or more) in the authd file.
Then, i suggest you to use two different java version for Iweb and the AUTH proccess.
i'm using the old jdk1.5 for Iweb and the new jdk1.6 for AUTH.
Try this...
ok thx Romu,
I'll have a try.
I post the result of it here later.
thx
