@Beastie: Thx, for this Server it rocks like hell.
@all: I still got some little problems with the Server and hope you can help.
When i start it with start_minimal.sh everything is near normal, execpt for talking to NPC. It takes about 10-20 Seconds till the talk menu opens.
If its started with start.sh the Server goes crazy when i log in. Extreme Lag, backzoning when i run, NPC talking starts more than a minute after clicking them and so on. You don
Re: Perfect World 136 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image by Beastie ^^
Hehe... VMware decreased pwserver performance :): and vmware emulate your CPU xD it doesn't give the real performance of your CPU to the virtual machine.. so, lags and others shits come up. :ott1:

No, it doesn't work.
The problem is: I don't know exactly if the server is started...
If I start a server on a real linux distribution(suse,ubuntu,min,... doesn't matter...) there is always something like:
>>All shit done! Now start the game!<<
And if i start the VMware image with the server (doesn't matter if ./start.sh or ./start_minimal.sh)
it first seems to be allright but later >>All shit done! Now start the game!<< appears but funnily enough the list of commands is
going on..

(I had only one second to get this screenshot)
What's wrong?
NO, I couldn't find anything like that in the threads before!:?:
Hope someone can give me a good advice.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Hendrik

Re: Perfect World 136 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image by Beastie ^^
Hi, i didn't know where to say this but...
I'm with a problem.. i've created my pw server with colinux/fedora.. everything was going awsome... the sv was online... but when i tryied to login in my server, A message box pops out, saying "Server under maintance, log in later"
Please What should I do??
I'm literally going insane....
Re: Perfect World 136 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image by Beastie ^^
@rogan12 You said it appears above the dialog box right? Try this:
RealmName 29000:ServerIpHere 13
-edit within c:/program files/YOURPERFECTWORLDINSTALLITIONFOLDER/element/userdata/serverlist.txt also make sure you edit the currentserver.ini within /element/userdata. (with your server ip and name)
@dragganta
if your talkin about ingame I don't think there is a way. I've GMED on my friends pserver (who I haven't seen in a while) and the only way to broadcast on the server was through the GM console. We couldn't find a way to use GM commands from the chat window. PW's only real shortcoming is the GM commands...they are too few, not to extensive, and extremely limited.
To anyone who can help my noob self:
Ive tried 3 different servers and cant get any to work. Farthest i got was with totmans server repack but I failed miserably with that one too. I can't really figure this out and need some help.
Ok well I'm gettin some issues that just wort work themselves out after spending hours in VMWARE (I use VMWARE Player). First of all, I did all the edits that are at the beginning of this thread. I run my own little network via a 10/100 switch. I want to play this on my desktop which is kick ass, and use my crappy lappy to run the server.
As for the issues, I cannot link to the register page. 192.168.0.51 failed both locally (on the laptop within windows xp sp3) and on my other computer (also running windows XP sp3)
I also get the error that says err:cannot connect to gauth.
It laces itself throughout the output after I ./start_minimal.sh
I don't know how to fix it.
Also I don't know how to change the configs for the cpu/ram settings. I have a junky little Intel Pentium D @1.73 ghz dualcore w/ 2 gigs ram. The OS runs pretty minimally (about 170 megs no apps loaded) from some tweaks I've done. The server seems to freeze trying to load, altho my resource reports indicate I'm not even using half a gig...:(
My laptop also has Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop 32bit edition installed. I was wondering if it would be eaiser to run it via that? If so do you have a guide?
Do you have any suggestions?
