Re: Perfect World 136 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image by Beastie ^^
I give a thumbs up to this release, thanks so much for putting the time to put this image together and documenting further discussion / fixes on the first post so that everything is in one place for getting this up and running. Going point by point from the start, I had this up and running in less than 30 minutes after downloading everything.
Question for the peeps that are running the full starting script - what kind of CPU / Memory are you giving this? On a 2.8GHz 820D (dual core pentium 4) it doesn't "look" like it has issues running - CPU averages about 40%, 60 on one core and around 30ish with some minor flux on both, and it appears to be running... but it's SLOOOOOW and I can't ever seem to log in + it lags on the console even when shutting down / rebooting the virtual server. Maybe it's wanting a CPU with native virtualization support...

Re: Perfect World 136 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image by Beastie ^^
What you think, whould it be more easily to run it on an real Linux distribution?
I'm not shure. I'm very confused of Colinux.
But I hate the fact that if I run it on an real linux distribution
I only have to run a second computer to chek if it works correctly.
What u think?
Hendrik

i think in Colinux more easier because u just need to install linux like ubuntu or fedora in Colinux, after that copy server files n setup server like u setup in vmware.
Colinux not so hard, i will make tutorial when i got some free time if u want.

i don't know what this image got but i think u need to change some ip in server, configure database (mysql or mssql), it's got alot of work to make it connect with the client.
The most important, u need to read guide to make ur server running, u can't play after mount that image n install pw
i hope this will help u....
