I didn't say to do a full installation... just go to Control Panel > Regional Languages (and so on...) and do the installation of asia languages on your existing OS.

Re: Perfect World 136 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image by Beastie ^^
thanks for the release, now my server are running but i cannot go to register page and cannot start the game, may be i dunno how to configure portforwarding on my router... prolink huricane 9200 R....
Re: Perfect World 136 on Ubuntu 8.04 Server VMware Image by Beastie ^^
:thumbup1: Thank you again Beastie for such a great release!!!!! Also as I went on to further explore / customize this release, I noticed the keyboard localization wasn't for my keyboard (I went to go input a "|" and it came up with a "~" for example).
This should not be too big of an issue for anyone who knows linux, however if this has happened to you and you didn't know what to do; simply type:
Code:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -plow console-setup
and set up your specific keyboard and localization
I know that nobody has asked for help on this yet, I just figured I would throw it out there in the event it does come up someone will now have their answer in advance :):

The issue at hand is not going to be port forwarding if you are running a single Windows PC, running both the server on VMWare and Client within windows. The issue is going to be IP's. So long as you have not touched any of the IP configs within the vmware image I would recommend you simply change that single PC's IP address (only useful for testing/devving as ONLY THAT pc will work for the game), or changing your routers DCHP/IP handouts (this way you'd be able to play from any PC within YOUR network). Port forwarding does not come into play until you're attempting to make the game server available to "the internet side" or WAN... If that is your goal, I would not worry about that at this time; as you will want to make sure everything works locally prior to having it available to the WAN.
So, so long as you have not touched any IP configs within the image, change your individual PC (or home network) to 192.168.0.X (just not 192.168.0.51 because that's what the server is) after you've done this you should now be able to go to the register page, and login and play the game.

I'm not too sure about the iWeb that is packaged with it, but I have successfully added the "new" iWeb from the other thread now called "pwAdmin" (and I've even created a little addon for it)
check out that thread / download it, and add that to this image; it works perfectly =D
