i get same error in start.sh(cannot connect to GameDB) and processor.php(register mssql error)
I no longer believe that I still get to run.
I am trying since 1,5 weeks to start a private server, tried all possible and always this error :/

i tryied about 1month before getting my first server running up and well^^

i reinstalled pw without patchs. (now only 126)
now i dont get this "server maintenance blabla" msg
but the normal error.
is a small step forward xD

I think the error is only in the database connection. if the work should go all.

and the db-ip(192.168.1.50(my own ip)) I've entered into the host file

i have the same connect db error and when i try:
[root@fedora ~]# /opt/lampp/bin/tsql -S 89.216.246.249 -U sa
I get prompted for password, i enter it, and then:
src/tds/login.c: tds_connect: 89.216.246.249:4000: No route to host
Msg 20009, Level 9, State 0, Server OpenClient, Line 0
Server is unavailable or does not exist.
There was a problem connecting to the server
PS. I tried installing this server using vmware with ubuntu... not success, now i try with this and same thing :(
I begin to wonder if all this is maybe because my modem isn't on ethernet port but on USB. Should I change my modem to ethernet port??
I am having quiet a problem, I have tried everything, and everything is working ok, however I cannot register an account. I go to register and I get the error "Unable to connect to server: TDS" on lines 26 and 27 they are basically the same. I have tried many things however nothing works. I get the registration page. I type in all my info, and I get this error. It will not connect to the server regardless, Is there a way to fix this problem?
is your sql server setup as Server name TDS usualy if your computers name is not TDS then u will half to either set your computer name to TDS or find out wat your computer name is and configure your PWserver to read the name of your computer i know i had that problem a few times then after u get that all set you half to restart your pc and also make ur sql database so delete the old 1 and recreat it and also make sure ur password is edited in your pwserfer for mssql under core.php get back to me and let me know if it worked

Ok now i have one more issue... I got it to work, however, logging in server, it says it is outdated. It is version 1.2.6 like it requested, what is the problem?
when i run the pw server.bat thing a command promp pops up and then this comes in yellow and it closes - coLinux: kernal panic suggests that either you forgot to supply a root= kernal boot paranter or the file / device mapped to the root file system is not found or inaccessible
Please check your coLinux configuration and use option "-v 3"
what should i do?
Killer10333 check your PWServer.conf and bat file are both set to the correct paths and reminder i think they are case sensitive if im correct
ok i think im screwed...this is what i have done (at least what i can remember, since it was a while ago...
i downloaded those files in the guide...extracted them in the same folder and it came out with a few different folders...i installed mssql 2000 and colinux with fedora 7...i then configured mssql. then i changed the path of PWserver.bat (after moving the files in pwserver to colinux folder) and PWserver-conf... then i ran server.bat and this happened-
a command promp window came up saying
"C:\coLinux/PWServer~>cd ../
C:\coLinux-daemon.exe -t nt @PWServer.conf fastboot nogui eth0
=slirp,,tcp:29000/tcp:80:80/tcp:8080:8080/tcp:443:443

yea idk if that was supposed to happen or not, but also im not sure how to start colinux..it doesnt have a run or .bat file...i have client 1.3.9 because i couldnt find client 1.2.6 (or 1.3.1 or 1.3.6, if you know a download link PLEASE post)
please help me, ive been trying for months but i dont think ive got anywhere, just got a bunch of stuff downloaded/installed...infact i may be worse off then before

I've spent the past couple of days reading over a couple of guides on this, and I think I'm close to getting it working.....
Anyway, the registration page works perfectly and the world loads (server-side). But I can't seem to get the client to connect to it.
Any Ideas? Let me know what info you need ^^.

I have to ask why you chose this release in particular. If you are just starting out with your first Perfect World Private server I would recommend one of the newer releases that you can run in a virtual environment like virtualbox and vmware.

#2) This is such an ancient release it uses MSSQL oO Everything we do around here revolves around the new releases that operate using MySQL; so I must ask why anyone would chose this release over the several that use MySQL and VMWare or VBox (or Linux native releases)

NO, No PW server on windows, ALL PW servers are for Linux.

...and I would NOT recommend CoLinux as it is pure GARBAGE -- use a GOOD VM software like VMware or VBox...
