If u mean when i type this address http://192.168.0.10/pw/update/patch/ on web browser,then yes i can download it.
I am getting the same error with sPatcher v0.8a,dunno whts wrong but in Ronny we trust !:thumbup:
Also i am using windows with hrace009's unbuntu server,so is it possible that i can use lighttpd?
And lastly if my friend uses autopatcher whts the patch_server address he needs to put in order to auto patch from my server?Is it the same as serverlist.txt?
Thx for bearing with me so far ....am almost there:P:
Ronny, got a quick newbie question regarding the patcher- how can I make the window/background image accept transparency in the background as transparency? I had a image for my patcher window in mind however... it doesn't seem to like the fact that I have some transparent areas... they show as white when I open up the patcher window to load the game.
also, one other thing, could you (or anyone else) tell me in a little more newbie-friendly detail how to do the patching/slipstreaming piece of the patcher? (to start with, what program in your tools I should use to be slipstreaming? and where to obtain a .xup file?) I've been looking around through your documentation on your site but haven't come across the details I need (as a newbie to this I sometimes need step-by-step explanations of things... which apparently I need help with this time as well) i'll read through this thread again to make sure I haven't missed anything though.
Very Quick Tutorial (VQT) : making a XUP patch for sPatcher ! :ott1:
- Make a new folder called "element"
- Put patch files in it (such as data folder, elementclient.exe, whatever you want!)
- If you want to patch a pck folder, you will need to follow the procedure below (see *)
- Compress the "element" folder with 7zip archiver and using 7z format! WINRAR NOT COMPATIBLE!!!
- Rename the element.7z -> element.xup
- Now you have a XUP file, hehe..
*For patching a pck folder follow these procedure:
- folder.pck.files\folder\"put your new data"
- then put "folder.pck.files" into "element" folder of the patch you want to make!
- Compress the "element" folder.....
Example: versions.sw
1=ec_patch_0-1.xup -> Patch 1
2=ec_patch_1-2.xup -> Patch 2
Thanks both of you, now just to figure out about how to make my image's transparency show...
" image's transparency show... " which
Im guessing you are using a picture format that supports transparency like png? My guess would be that the patcher has a white background on the image container and to get transparency ronny would have to change the program.
actually, as some know I use photoshop, so .psd format for me, which, yes, supports transparency... however it saved the initial window (ronnies blue background) in .png so... I tried saving in .png format but... i'm not really sure that png even supports it being as it wont let me show transparency :blink: lol
Png support transparancy
Jpg doesn't support transparancy
Bmp should support transparancy too...
